I believe that what you have to do (as we have, frequently) is book 2 weeks and then you pay the excess when you leave :sunny:

Saying that, we've parked in Manchester before and they've refused to accept the extra days :thumbsup2

Think it normally works out at around £5 a day :goodvibes

We'll be parking at Stansted next week and, after I'd e-mailed them, they said to just mention when we collect and they'd sort out any balance :)

Ok a tip that MAY be cheaper...

Using holidayextras.co.uk price your "hotel and stay" for the hotel of your choice (including the 15 day parking), then compare this price to paying for the "room only" and a seperate parking booking.

We needed a hotel at Gatwick for October and 19 days parking. Looking at holidayextras.co.uk:
- Sofitel park and stay package (including 15 days parking) is £157
- Sofitel room only is £99
- 19 days parking (although it is actually the same for 22 days!) at the North Terminal is £60.40

So I booked the room only + the parking seperately for just under £160. If I had gone for the "park and stay" package, I would have paid £157 + £5 or so for each extra day (so near £180). Since the cost of 22 days parking is the same as 19 days, there would be more of a saving for you...

Well that worked out well for us, but we are flying BA from the North Terminal and wanted to stay at the Sofitel. There are also "valet parking" options if you are so inclined. BUT my posts illustrates that it is worth "pricing up the seperates" rather than just assuming that a package (and paying for the extra days at the gate) will be cheaper.

Good luck.

How far you away from the airport? Is taxi out of the question?
If its about £160 it is a lot of taxi journey.
We are about 1 hour away from airport, cost me £70 last time to be dropped off and picked up. Then no driving with the jetlag on return.

We live about 2.5 hours drive from Gatwick (we live in Bath) - worse if traffic is bad. A taxi (well airport transfers) is a minimum of £100+ each way (so £200+ for a return journey).

We also like staying the night before: our flight (BA) is 11.05, so that would probably mean leaving home at about 5am if we got a taxi

If we fly from Heathrow, then we don't "park and stay" (unless it is a REALLY early flight). But Gatwick generally requires an overnight stay beforehand...

We are 2.5 hours north of Heathrow cost about £50 return in petrol so financially probably not a lot of diffference in taxi and hotel with parking.
I don't mind the early start going its the 2.5 hour drive back that I hate would rather do taxi.
Hope you find a better price :thumbsup2

Boo where do you get this price? I am being quoted £160 for 22 days JUST parking

Yeah, sort of know what you mean... but husband doesn't mind the drive (he gets about 5 or 6 hours good sleep on the plane).

We have also had the very unfortunate experience of a booked airport car not picking us up from Heathrow once... we were stranded. It was on New Year's Eve and took us about 7 hours to get the 60 miles from Heathrow to my parents that day (due to holiday timetables for bus/train connections for that day). After a flight from LA, that was NOT welcome. We probably should have taken a normal cab, but that probably would have cost us a fortune. Somehow, now, feel a lot more secure knowing that our car is waiting for us at the airport...

£160 is really not bad for hotel + 19 (well up to 22) days parking. There are cheaper hotels out there, but the Sofitel is connected to the North Terminal - so very handy for the flight next morning.

holidayextras.co.uk - £60 is for 19 days at the NCP Flightpath (North Terminal). I may have got confused - the North/South Terminal main car parks (Parking Express for the South Terminal) seem to be £100 for 22 days. Sorry for the confusion :(

HOWEVER, this is for October - prices may vary depending on time of year of trip and maybe how far in advance you book...

There are cheaper (off airport) car parks for £60/£70 for 22 days, but - not sure about you - but I prefer the on-airport car parks...

ok thanks boo. is another case of the august rip off..cheapest is £112 with most coming out at £170 lol

We used the copthorne gatwick hotel last time, we paid 2 weeks parking + room, & was supposed to be charged the extra 2 WEEKS on top (went for 4 weeks altogether) & they didnt charge us a penny more :)
I suppose its pot luck though, we are going there again, expecting to be charged the extra nights & if they dont it will be a bonus!!
