I can redeem my airmiles for 5 and 7 day park passes. they can either be base tickets or premium tickets (with water park, no expire and hopper)

which would you recommend?

i was thinking base tickets and adding the water parks plus part later. hopper part seems useles to me...but maybe i am not clear on it. and the expiry thing doesn't work for me either as i read that you can buy this during your trip if you can see yourself not using all the days.

what does everyone think?

thanks

Hi, Amy.

The answer is to buy the cheapest tickets that will fit with your plans, then, if plans change, either accept paying for upgrades or stick with your original plan so the tickets will work for you.

About the no-expiry... keep in mind that if you decide to buy it later, realizing that you will not use all your days, you have to pay for ALL the days on your original pass... not just the ones you haven't used yet. So it's not going to be cheaper if you upgrade later... but if you DO use all your days on this trip, you'll be ahead.

I agree with you about park hopping, but if you plan to take advantage of extra magic hours, do special events like Fantasmic, or dine in restaurants that are in the theme parks, you will have less flexibility without park hopping. For example, if the evening magic hours are at Animal Kingdom, you'll have to spend the day at AK if you want to do the extra magic hours, unless you have park hopping. So no park hopping often means choosing between enticing possibilities, while with park hopping you can rush around and do it all. I think of it as an energy thing... if you're supercharged with abundant energy, you can zoom around all day and night and sample everything with the park hopper. On the other hand, lack of park hopping helps me to conserve my energy and focus on the things that are available at my family's one park du jour.

Just my two cents. Any tickets are better than no tickets, right?

Going from a 5 day basic adult pass to a 7 day is only an extra 65 airmiles. So I figured definitely worth the airmiles to get an extra 2 day pass for only 65 airmiles. On the other hand going from a 7 day basic adult to a 7 day premium adult is a extra 1200 airmiles or a 1000 extra airmiles to upgrade the 5 day so you have to be really sure that you need the premium pass before using all those airmiles.

I too bought the 7 day with no expiration, it just seemed that for the extra air miles it was worth it in the long run. Aren't air miles great? This is the second time I have had a Disney vacation on them and just got back from London, England, (flight paid for by airmiles) YIPPEE!
