ok, I am not that big I wear a size 16 pants, but UsAirway seats are rather small, I was wondering what experiances anyone has had with an airline that had roomier seats. Which one was it and how expensive is it???

My best friend and my mom are both bigger...mom a 22 pant and best friend 26 pant. I want to be comfortable on the plane and not totally squished. Thanks in advance!!!

IMHO they're all about the same, American has a little more legroom, but the seat widths are the same.

Being a 20+ seat I have always been comfortable on Jetblue, if they fly from a city near you, give them a try! I have no issues with seat arms or feeling squeezed in.

American is slowly doing away with their More Room Throughout Coach product, they'll soon be back to seat pitches (31-32 inches between seats) in the range of other airlines. 737, 757, MD80's are scheduled to have MRTC removed by June 2005, and 777's will have all MRTC gone by December 2005.

We have flown Delta (before Delta Song), and more recently flown Jetblue. We find Jetblue seats to be much wider than Delta (although I hear the Song planes are larger seats). Jetblue is also priced reasonably. Good luck. :wizard:

Also, check out www.seatguru.com . They list most major airlines and their different planes and give information on good and bad seats, space between seats, and seat width.

just stay away from southwest they have the smallest seats around. i agree with the op who said jet blue was good . we always fly jetblue more leg room and comfy leather seats

Most airlines have 17 inches from armrest to armrest, Southwest included.
My sister, who is very large actually prefers Southwest (but only if they are newer planes) and she flies weekly for business. The armrests are configured differently and are easier to fit in too (or under) without the pain in your hips from being smashed.

But Jetblue does have the wider seats- by an inch I think.

Just a hint:
When you choose your seats, pick one window and two aisle seats. Leave the middle seat empty. If the plane isn't crowded, that middle seat might remain empty and you'll be able to put the armrests up. That would give the two people in the window and aisle a little more room.
