HI! Thanks in Advance for any information!!

My parents are going to visit the World with us in December.

They will be flying out of DFW. I wish Southwest was allowd to use DFW as a hub!! Such a bummer!

So, in your experience, which airline has or had the best rate from DFW to MCO?

Since we have some time, I am hoping that I will be able to grab them a good price!!

probobly American since DFW is it's main hub

although, Delta connection has a non-stop flight from DFW to MCO.
so you should probobly narrow it down to those two and go from there.

I might be wrong, but I think my DH can get to Dallas on SW, he just has to have a layover in a neighboring state. Can't you get a flight with a stop in Tulsa or something and then go to Orlando? It is kind of a bummer not going directly, but you would save alot.

Am I wrong about Dallas? All I know is that Dh has earned two free flights going SW to Dallas and Houston the past few months. He really should have residency there.

I checked it out, and not only would it be a pain, but it might cost more. 331.30 per person to go to Little rock from Dallas then little rock to Orlando RT. You could be a Ding nut and try to lower the price.

Because I don't want to face all the tasks I have to complete today, I looked it up on cheap tickets, and Air tran, American and delta had 192 fares for random August dates.

Thanks Microcell!

It seems right now that Airtran has the best rates for August at $89 each way but...we need December. So hopefully, they will come out with another special. It is just sad that Dallas does not have some incredible fares like some other major cities. I could understand if they where fllying out of a little airport!!

I bet if Southwest was able to fly directly out of DFW that we would get some good fares!

Southwest could fly from DFW but cant because of the Wright Ammendment. They fly out of Love Field because that is where they set up shop. (I am hoping this wont turn into a Wright Ammendment Pro/Cons message) If the newest change to that is passed by congress soon, they will be able to Through Ticket a flight to MCO. They would have to fly through New Orleans or something. Its a start. BTW, I am an AA employee and want lower rates.

Generally airfare is usually 230.00 round trip. Most of the time you have to book well in advance, but sometimes there will be specials. Keep a close eye on airline websites.

FYI, the lowest I ever got for a roundtrip is 130.00 per person and that was on AA. I dont think you will ever see a price that low again. I wouldnt see it going much lower than 200.00

AA normally offers the best times and if you watch the rates the best rates as well.

AA, Delta and AirTran are currently the only direct flight options out of DFW.

Thanks...Most flights that I am seeing right now are around $200. Airtrans specials are not going past Oct31 yet. It is hard to not get jealous when you see people getting flights for $49 each way! ha! :woohoo:

We have dealt with the wright amend. forever! I am from Arlington TX. Hello Flower Mound!

If you don't mind a flight that isn't direct, it seemed that Northwest had $149 round trips the other day. I don't know if that is for December or not. I have been checked ultimatefares also. We got $202 rt direct flights with AA for September, FWIW. Sometimes, SW will fly out of DFW using another airline.

Sign up for Aitrtan Airways Net Escapes emails. The last one I received on 7-19 had $89 fares all the way through November 16th. I have never flown Airtran, just always been lucky with AA.
Good luck!

Thanks ShelleyBell, I was looking for some kind of sign up online yesterday and I did not see it. I will go back today. I did see the $89 fares. That would not be bad. I guess after taxes and what not it will still be close to $200 RT.

I posted a thread about AA reward miles yesterday but I don't think I have any hits. Have any of ya'll used yours? Parents have some built up but I was wondering if you can use them on one and buy the other ticket outright.

I have never used my miles, as I have forgotten to use my Advantage number on several flights.

I hope someone can help you with that question.

Shelley

Guess what. Go to www.southwest.com and look up schedules. SW is now flying out of DFW. MCO is NOT on that list yet, but keep watching. I won't be surprised if it shows up.....

All the flights I looked up are actually on thier code share ATA, but if you book on the SW site you get the great SW terms...
