We just returned from CBR. Nice trip & weather. Friday was a ZOO at the parks. This morning I went to Custom House to get boarding passes. They will NOT issue them unless all of the people in your party are "present" at the counter. It is not mentioned in any of the resort literature, and if you are bus bound, it could be very inconvenient. The woman says they are not Disney employees, so don't expect any Magic.

As if Travel day isn't stressful enough!

Greetings,
I just assumed that checking in at the Resort would be the same as checking in at the airport. I was a bit skeptical about how this would work but I too have had too many hectic days lugging luggage from the rental car return to the terminal. Because they allow you to take advantage of this service 12 hours in advance we went down to the Custom House at 7:30 AM (Sceduled Flight Time To LA was 7:00 PM) and walked right up to the window and were on our way in about 10 minutes. Our bags arrived safe and sound at LAX and we were able to enjoy our last day at a leasurely pace instead of being on edge for making sure we allowed ourselves enough time to get everything squared away at the airport. For us it worked out great and it is something I am glad Disney is offering. I hope they will continue this service.

Kevin

PS: If you plan to take advantage of this service I would advise that
you try to go early and avoid the checkout time rush.

I agreee, the Airline Check in service is great. I went to down to the airline check in desk at 8am yesterday, and my flight was 730pm last night. I checked my luggage and enjoyed the rest of the day without worrying about going back and getting my suitcase and taking it to the airport. Another great thing is that you can go right to the security check at the airport and bypass the ticket counter....this saved A LOT of time.

We know that Song provides this check-in service. Is this done from the lobby of our Resort?

Well, honestly, that just makes sense. I don't have my DME literature any more, but allearsnet.com states it here http://allearsnet.com/acc/mexpress.htm about halfway down the page ("* To check in, your entire party must be present with your government issued photo I.D. (e.g., driver's license, passport, Military ID) and your Key to the World card to verify that you are a guest of a Disney hotel") under Resort Airline Checkin Service.
Anyway, back to it just makes sense - you're checking in for your flight and getting boarding passes, right? You wouldn't expect ONE person to be able to do that for your ENTIRE party at the airport, right? Well, the airline checkin service at the resorts is simply an alternate version of the same thing at the airport.

I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the blue info cards that are given out in check-in welcome packets make mention of everyone being present. I know it's been highlighted in all the FAQ's I've recieved.

I did go back to the room and peruse all the paperwork I was given, and found no reference to it. I figured it would be a nice thing to mention, just a reminder, since you can print your boarding passes at home and no one sees anyone in your party................... :confused3 Owww!

It is a nice thing to mention. Many of us understand checking in at the resort is the same as checking in with a skycap at the airport.

I wonder if they would just check in part of your group, assuming you had enough people present so you'd be within the luggage limits.
