Anyone know what a "normal" airfare from houston to orlando is? I'm not sure if I should book now for March (at $289/ticket) for a family of 5 or wait for better fares. I worry about waiting, what if they go up or sell out. This is the yucky part...the tickets are non-refundable.

Try looking on Travelocity.com. We live in Louisiana and I was able to get tickets out of Lafayette for $229 per person which was the cheapest I could find without having to drive to Baton Rouge or New Orleans.

That sounds too high to me. Have you tried Travelocity? I think they're around $203/ticket (without taxes) depending on the days of the week you plan to travel. I bought our tickets about 6 months ago for our March trip for $184 each directly off of Continental's site so you might want to check there too. Also, sometimes you can get cheaper fares if you fly into Tampa rather than Orlando. It's about an hour's drive from Tampa to Orlando. And, you may want to check Southwest's fares if you are willing to fly out of Hobby versus Intercontinental.

Back in 2002, you're never going to believe this, but we flew out of San Antonio to Orlando for $58 per person round trip. Isn't that awesome!! We live in Houston, so obviously the catch was we had to drive over to San Antonio, but we just couldn't pass up that kind of deal.

Good luck trying to find something!
