Received this yesterday.....sorry if it's old news.

Dear Claimant:

We have received many enquiries regarding the timing for payment of refunds from the British Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways Passenger Refund Settlement. Please note that on 21 October 2008, three Objectors appealed the Order and Final Judgment approving the Settlements. Resolution of this appeal is likely to take at least six months and could take more than a year, depending on the speed with which the appeals court decides the issue.

Payments to all claimants in the United States and the United Kingdom will be delayed until the appeal by the three Objectors is resolved.

Copies of the relevant court filings and a more detailed update can be found at www.airpassengerrefund.co.uk on the "Reminders/Updates" page.

Kind regards,

Air Passenger Refund Settlement Fund

I got that as well, when I looked at the website for more information and read the court documents all it seemed to me was the 3 people ( 2 are Mr & Mrs or brother & sister) objected to a court in the US making a descion for people who are residents of the UK on flights that did not go to the US. At least that's what I thought it said.

If anyone can really explain it to me I would be very, very gratefu, as I don't see what exactly they are trying to achieve. I'm trying to claim for return trips UK - US x 9 and return trips UK - AUS x 4 so it does add up to a bit and I don't really get the objection :confused3

Sorry for the long post ......... any clarity would be most appreciated :flower3:

Sorry, I tried reading it but gave up half-way through. We're only claiming for one return flight each to the US but as there's 5 of us any pennies would have come in very handy for our next holiday.

Sorry to butt in but can I ask a question?

Does this apply to VA flights if they were part of a package holiday throught Virgin Holidays?

Thanjks for thaat, I'll give it a go and see what happens. :thumbsup2

Every penny helps at the moment
