Hi,
I'm leaving for the world Monday, and have an achilles tendon(sp?) issue that I need to wear an air cast for. I don't 'have' to wear it all the time, but the Dr. said to wear it as much as possible before my trip and to take it with me to help rest it after walking all day. My question, how do I take the cast with me? I would rather not wear it on the plane, but do I just carry it? Pack it in it's own suitcase? I could really do with out the whole 'extra attention' going through security. Also, the air pump sits right on my shin and has given me a big bump and a bruise. Also hurts like the devil when it rubs.
Any help you all can give is appreciated!:thumbsup2
Thanks,
G

I would probably pack it in a carryon bag, just to make sure that nothing happens to it. That way, you would also have it with you in case the leg gives you any trouble in the airport.
For the rubbing part, you would probably be able to use moleskin to pad the part that rubs. Moleskin is a soft fabric with adhesive on one side. Hikers and runners have used it for many years to prevent or cushion blisters. You should be able to find it in most Pharmacies or the drug department in stores like Target.

Also, you probably want to look into an ECV or wheelchair - even if you would not use it all the time, it would help to limit your walking. The average person walks 6 to 9 miles per day at WDW!.

Thanks,
That is what I was thinking. Put it in a bag, use some moleskin-I have some around here some where. I used it for an Irish Dance show. I was thinking that I'd be ok at WDW-you're walking and standing then sitting-not just doing a marathon.
Thanks for the advice-
G
