Aidan Pierce... Update Post 252 5/30/07

oh Rome my heart ached when I read you still haven't been able to hold him. Keep up on skin contact and talking because he knows you're loving him just the same. Sweet pictures. He'll be coming home in no time!

Rome,
Thanks so much for the update. They always make me cry. Keep up the positive attitude, and please do continue to keep us posted.
Best to you and your family,
Tiki

Yay Aiden :cheer2: :woohoo: You keep fighting you little sweetie and you will be on room air in no time :goodvibes I understand the "faintness" and "sweaty brow" Mac at first seeing his incision. When I had a bowel resection, they had to let the incision grow back together, for fear of infection, and my dear hubby was in charge of packing and repacking the wound 4x a day, I could NOT do it

Like others have said, despite not holding your son yet, keep talking and touching him as much as possible and before you know it .... he will be in your arms TOMORROW :thumbsup2

 and :pixiedust: for your whole family.

Oh I am so glad to hear that he is doing so well! Thank you for keeping us updated and sharing pics of the little cutie :)

What an adorable baby boy he is becoming! So much for you and your wife to go through. Please know that we are thinking of you and praying for your family. It broke my heart to see that you hadn't been able to hold your boy yet. That will be the best hug of your life, I'm sure!

Please give him a kiss from the Allen Family.

I cannot believe I missed this post, I'm sending you tons of pixie dust and will keep your beautiful baby boy in my prayers.

We have been through a similar experience and all I can say is that the power of the dust and prayers work wonders. I have a beautiful little neice and when she was born she had a couple of seizures, she was very limp and didn't cry for nearly 2 weeks. When I went to see her in the hospital things didn't look good but we have a strong family and kept positive. Well last weekend they finally got to take her home, she has found her little voice and has cried and is now feeding very well.

Hugs to you and your family and I hope you get to take him home very soon

I'm happy to hear that he's progressing positively! :goodvibes

Hang in there. Soon he will be coming home with you. :)

Keeping you and your family in my prayers. :)

Thank you so much for the update. I will continue to pray for your precious boy's continued progress.

For those that don't check in on his CarePage:

Jeremiah 30:17 I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the LORD.

How exciting it is to see your child’s face free of tubes. He just casually sucks on his feeding tube and open his eye’s to see what’s happening. He also looks much thinner and healthier now if you don’t look under the sheets. That still looks bad, but as opposed to a week ago it is quite a remarkable change. No longer is it red and enflamed, but a nice shade oh fairly healthy pink.

We got to see a few different Nurse’s and Doctor’s today, he had an ET Nurse come over from Harris and change his dressings, because the last one was leaking. While they were doing that the Infectious Disease Doctor stopped by and checked on his wound. He leaned down close and waved it towards his face and did not smell anything. I took this to be a good sign as four day’s ago he said the whole NICU could smell our child.

He gave his infection a name, but I can’t remember nor could I spell it if I could remember. What he did say is that they are attacking it and didn’t seem to be very concerned.

We also had a visit with the Doctor who worked his first night after the Surgery. This is the same Doctor who told me a week ago, “He’s going to make it” and wasn’t just being nice. She said it again today and said her reasoning was that sometimes she just has a feeling and this was one of those times. So far I like her feeling, even if we are getting lots of help from above.

To all those that lift up my Family and Son in prayer on a daily basis, I can not thank you enough; and look forward to the celebration of life when he is released.
