Jeremiah 30:17 I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the LORD.
How exciting it is to see your child’s face free of tubes. He just casually sucks on his feeding tube and open his eye’s to see what’s happening. He also looks much thinner and healthier now if you don’t look under the sheets. That still looks bad, but as opposed to a week ago it is quite a remarkable change. No longer is it red and enflamed, but a nice shade oh fairly healthy pink.
We got to see a few different Nurse’s and Doctor’s today, he had an ET Nurse come over from Harris and change his dressings, because the last one was leaking. While they were doing that the Infectious Disease Doctor stopped by and checked on his wound. He leaned down close and waved it towards his face and did not smell anything. I took this to be a good sign as four day’s ago he said the whole NICU could smell our child.
He gave his infection a name, but I can’t remember nor could I spell it if I could remember. What he did say is that they are attacking it and didn’t seem to be very concerned.
We also had a visit with the Doctor who worked his first night after the Surgery. This is the same Doctor who told me a week ago, “He’s going to make it” and wasn’t just being nice. She said it again today and said her reasoning was that sometimes she just has a feeling and this was one of those times. So far I like her feeling, even if we are getting lots of help from above.
To all those that lift up my Family and Son in prayer on a daily basis, I can not thank you enough; and look forward to the celebration of life when he is released.
