We will be driving down to FL and arriving May 4th. Sadly, we will be staying offsite this trip, we got a great deal and it is only a two day trip. Anyhow, we arrive Sunday, probably around noon. What resort (at WDW) would be your pick to visit for a few hours and poke around in the shops, maybe with a playground for DD who will be 22 months when we go. She would probably love to run around a bit after being in the car from CT. Then after doing some playing and shopping we would have dinner there before heading back to our hotel. Any opinions? :)

How about Fort Wilderness? You can visit the petting farm, she can go on a pony ride, and you can browse around the Trading Post! The Trail's End Buffet is a great place to have lunch or dinner too!

When we went to US/IOA 2 yrs ago, we had to drive over to SoG to buy tickets. We needed a WDW fix anyway so we spent several hours at DTD and ate lunch at RFC. We headed to SoG and looked aroudn there, then headed to the GF for our PS at 1900 PF(had to hit the villian dinner before it left). We spent several hours at the GF, looking around the resort and watching the fireworks,EWP and kiss goodnight from the ferry dock.

If you can afford the park admission for the half day then I would go to AK or Epcot for the half day. Not as crowded as MK would be for half day and room for DD to play at both. If you go to Epcot she may want to play in the spray area between WS and FW. If you do not want to pay admission then Fort Wilderness is a good choice and Downtown Disney might work as well

Thanks
Jason
