Depends on the kids. Our DD is very go with the flow and sleeps in her stroller well if she really needs to sleep. She doesn't always fall asleep if we specifically lay her down for a nap. So,given the travel time back to the hotel from a park and then back to the park again later, it isn't worth it for us to go back. She can't swim on her own yet and we aren't huge pool people, so the pool isn't a huge draw for us.Curious as to what you prefer (especially those of you that travel in summer): Do you prefer to take an afternoon break, or just stay through?
What we do instead is things like planning a lunch table service meal that will get us inside and into some A/C for a while in the middle of the hottest time of day. We'll also do some calmer activities, like taking a ride on the ships around the Rivers of America, or finding a show like Mickey's Philharmagic/Festival of the Lion King/Voyage of the Little Mermaid (or any of the shows around World Showcase in Epcot). If DD falls asleep in her stroller, we might take advantage of Rider Swap and do some of the rides she's too short for, or find a snack and a quiet corner of the park and just sit and relax for a bit.
If DD naps, we'll stay through til the fireworks. If she doesn't, we usually head back a bit earlier so she doesn't fall asleep on the way back to the hotel.
