My 11 year old wants to dress as a scary skeleton zombie , l

Is it ok/ allowed?
Is it too scary for other kids?

His second choice is a clone trooper.
Thanks for any input/advice

My step brother and his family had a similar idea for the MHP last year, and i'll be honest I was a bit concerned at first - but it was all fine!

I tried to attach a photo but it wouldnt let me - i will try again when i get home.

I think its fine! Although, we never see many scary costumes when we go. Just check the costume guidelines if he is wearing any type of mask or anything.

Do you have any photos of what you mean by "scary skeleton zombie"? I ask because the costume rules do state "Costumes should be child-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive or violent." There were a few scary costumes on Friday (none with large amounts of blood or gore), but most folks were dressed in fairly family friendly costumes.

I think you should be fine, I understand that the Mad T Party has been zombified for the Halloween season.

Yes and no...they went with the dead white make up and some black smudges. Their costumes had strips of fabric (maybe gauze) draped on them, but it wasn't an all out zombie look.

Again, it all goes back to what the OP means by "scary". If it's bloody, gory, violent, then no, it would not fit in well with MHP. If it's just dead white makeup, then it would be fine.

based on what I saw last friday I'd agree with this rule of thumb. I saw a few tweens with the dead white makup, or gray, and maybe inked stitches around the mouth, etc, but not much in the way of blood/gore.

Thanks for all the replies, I cannot post an image ( too few posts ) but the mask of the costume is a bit frightening, freaky teeth etc, if you search google for " skeleton zombie costume" it's the one with green hair
But thankfully he now says he wants to be a Star Wars x wing pilot, less stress for me!!!

haha, if it's the one I saw then that might be quite a bit scarier on average than your typical MHP costume. I actually think it's pretty cool, but might be too much.

I love zombies, but Star Wars X-Wing pilots are even cooler. Tell him it's a great choice :) I was an X-Wing pilot when I was about 8...which would be nearly 30 years ago. "awesome" never goes out of style ;)

Yeah...I agree that while it's an interesting costume, it's not what you'd normally see at MHP. I've seen a handful of (adults, normally) costumes that were on the gruesome/violent/creepy side over the years, but they always seem out of place, so I think the Star Wars X-Wing Fighter is a better choice. If you're into meeting characters, there are supposed to be Stormtroppers out during the party (and maybe Darth Vader, but no one has confirmed that yet).
