hi this is a great website. Its my first time on it. Im thinkin of goin to disneyland paris in september or november for 4 nights with my husband and two kids aged 7 and 4 i would greatly appreciate any advice on where to stay maybe thinkin of val de europe as my kids are very fussy eaters and self catering would be great as de food seems so expensive to waste also thinkin of flying to beauvais airport is this a nightmare or is it worth doin. Help me please

Will you be hiring a car? As Davy Crokett Ranch is self catering.

You only get breakfast provided in the onsite hotels (I would never want to stay offsite personally.) and the breakfast is all the normal bits, cereals, bread rolls etc, so your kids should be fine there.

Also the food in the parks is very kid friendly and the buger and chips are a bit ££ but not so much so that it should put you off.

Also, there are a lot of buffets in the park which will have loads of choice for kids.

FionaG- :welcome:

I know a few people stay at nearby camp sites and travel in (You would need a car).... I think Torsie has given a good suggestion in DCR for if you wanted to go self catering.

.... Personally I didn't find the prices too outrageous for the food. If you were concerned about the Euro rate, you could always go for something like the half board dining plan? My Fiance is a very picky eater (When I met him he would eat any fruit, or any vegetable either...) and we found plenty of places to eat with a lot of choice.

Check out www.dlpfoodguide.com for some ideas of what places sell to eat, and for prices.

There's plenty of threads on this board about the half board dining plan...

Hope you enjoy the DIS!

With regards to bauvais airport, If you are renting a car, then its fine, its roughly a 2 hour drive, but depends on traffic / your sense of navigation etc.
If not, then your best bet is booking an airport transfer, and there are various companies that cater to this, i have used ATA-bauvais and found it excellent, but have heard some horror stories about them to.

If you can, charles de gualle is the easiest because you can avail of the VEA shuttle directly to Disney, also the tgv or rer.

If you are trying to save on costs, and have found cheaper flights to bauvais, factor in the travel aswell, as it may turn out just as much, as transfer for a family of 4 both ways can be quite expensive.

thanks everyone for your advice. I am thinkin of booking everything myself on the internet as its much cheaper than prices i have been quoted. Its trying to decide where to stay what hotel is the best value and when is the best time to go sep or nov. My dd loves high school musical and i think thats finishing the end of sep so i think we will go then plus im a bit worried about the weather in nov would it be xmasy then also what are the opening hours for sep and nov. Will there still be fireworks.Sorry for all the questions;)

There are no fireworks in September or November, unless you are there for bonfire nights.

From around 8th November, its Christmas Season at DLRP. Christmas season is incredible at DLRP - its so beautiful it makes me cry. But unless you go over a weekend, you won't see everything Christmas - as some of the parades, shows etc only happen at weekends in November, and then each day from the beginning of December.

HSM finished around 14th October last year.

as far as vfm goes on a budget dont think you can beat my explorers hotel.Have the hotel breakfast (croissant cereal fruit etc) and then plenty of choice at restaraunts take aways etc. Go sept and slightly more chance of decent weather which makes it more pleasant. as far as transport goes the direct eurostar is fantastic if thats practical for you. no hassle!
