Hi
This will be our first time ever to Universal :yay: and I'm planning on staying onsite. I'm hoping to take advantage of the $86 week long tickets but was also going to buy one annual pass for the hotel discounts etc.

My question is: Can I still get the annual pass discount if I book it through Lowes first since I am a member I'd like to take advantage of Lowes perks as well. Which site do I book from?

Also, are there rental car companies on site at the hotels just in case we decide to rent a car for one day?

Any help would be greatly appreciated here.

Thanks

I think if you want to get the AP discount you have to go to universalorlando.com and purchase the room there to get the discount and the rental car question I am pretty sure they will have a rental car desk at the hotels and all you have to do is go to either the site I mentioned or go to lowes hotels and look at the hotels and it should tell you if they do or don't.
hope this helps and sure other will post more info.:thumbsup2

Hi, fellow New Jerseyean. Unfortunately, using an AP rate will preclude you from any Loews Perks. You must book at a qualifying rate to score your welcome gift, late checkout, room upgrade, etc. Perhaps you will find my upgrade primer helpful, as that has the link where you book:

Hertz is available at all 3 hotels.

Have fun.

When we where at the RPR hertz where looking $96 for a days hire

Thanks so much for the info, I'll have to figure out if the APH rate will apply to the discounted rates they are offering, if it's only discounted on rack rates than i think the deals they have now will be a better deal.

You guys are very helpful!!

I'll keep reading

I looked into one day car rental for our upcoming trip as well. The Hertz rate, renting from the resort (RPR), was around $95 for the smallest car, as was previously mentioned. I did a bit more digging and found that Budget has an office at the Holiday Inn Universal Studios with a rate of around $25 for the smallest car and they have a free pick-up service from your hotel. Not sure about drop off, as we are returning the car to Tampa Airport, but I'm assuming they would. Worth looking into for that kind of savings!

That's where we always rent from .... Budget at Holiday Inn Universal across the street :thumbsup2 Hertz is more expensive because you are paying for convenience....
