Advice on leaving DHS after Fantasmic

Planning to attend 6:30 showing of Fantasmic on day when DHS closes at 8.

If we don't want to wait in line for a bus, will we be better off staying in the park until around 7:30ish (perhaps check out the Osborne Lights) and then trying to leave at that point?

Also, if we're staying at the Poly, would it be advisable for us to take the TTC bus instead of the one to the resorts?

I would definitely recommend seeing the Osborne Lights after Fantasmic. It may be busy for the first 10-15 minutes, but then it starts thinning out considerably, and you can definitely stay past the official closing time of the park.
