OP here, with the verdict! Sorry for the delay as my guide was off yesterday. The answer is no, they won’t let me split the purchase up into two 75-point purchases while allowing my sons to become new members even though I am on the contracts also and the total is 150. My guide did try to get approval. It still doesn’t make any sense as I could have bought them in my name alone, then added them on after the fact, and they would have then become new members. Same contracts, same number of points.
In the end, I decided the time and/or expense of changing title just isn’t worth the hassle to me and so purchased it as a straight 150 point contract. Many thanks to everyone for all of your advice (and thoughts & prayers).
The workaround this is to do it as a trust/LLC or just title them both to you and one son and then change one later. If you're doing your will anyway, I might ask your local lawyer about how they would structure it.
I think it's worth doing this right from the jump, especially if you plan for your kids to inherit this.
