I am from NY ( central NY ) and school just ended today for us as well. We didn't have any snow days to make up so this is just the regular school year. School will start up again, the same as it does every year, two days after Labor Day. It does seem like a long year but we do end up with two full months off for summer break so it isn't that bad.

Ah! Schools near here (in Montgomery County, MD) let out two weeks ago, but the kids return in late August (the week before Labor Day). So... it almost evens out.

I filmed mine at my parents' house so they could help with crowd control.

I really prefer the ones filmed at Disney though. Aside from the professional camera crew, they just seem so much more exciting, to be there in the middle of it all. I'll have to plan another trip to do a new video. Any excuse right?

Erin's dds were spectacular! They did a great job and the whole set for the Ariel Meet and Greet is just too cute. Love it!

I am really anxious to see more of them as well! I know Bret filmed one on pin trading, but I'm not sure what else people have done. I also recorded one on packing with small children, but I know I ran long. I'm betting it will be too long for them to use. I found it hard to squeeze things into 2 minutes. Even in the one I have up there several things were cut out. Maybe I just talk too much.

Mine were taped in my basement with our babysitter doing the filming. I much prefer the ones filmed at WDW too. I've been to WDW three times this year, with two more trips scheduled, but none of them cooincided with the deadlines for this project. Oh well.

All of the things I taped were waaaaaaay longer than they asked us to do. There were CMs doing editing (lots and lots of editing in my case). The funniest thing to me was that in the souvenir one I say several times there are free souvenirs. And I taped a section on the free birthday/anniversary buttons, but they edited that out. Despite the fact that they BEGGED us to keep it short, I figured it would be easier for them to cut stuff than to add it in. (Or maybe I just talk too much too )

One question though? Can all the kids that are big enough go with say their father first and then dad takes the baby and then mom takes all the kids again? I think I did it once and they let us, but I am just checking to see if it is standard fair?

Hi Tammy,
When the 1st adult rides with all of the children, they should request a Rider Switch ticket. After the 1st adult exits the ride they can give the 2nd adult their Rider Switch ticket. This Rider Switch ticket officially allows the 2nd adult to ride with minimal wait while bringing up to 2 additional people with them. It wouldn't hurt to ask the CM if all of your older kids could ride with the 2nd adult, but where you have more than 2 older children the Cast Member may say that they need to follow the rules which allow the 2nd adult to bring up to 2 people. Cast Members at some attractions may be able to allow you do this, but those at an extremely busy attraction like Soarin' may be less able to allow the 2nd adult to bring more than 2 people on that 2nd ride. Do keep in mind that Disney wants you and your family to enjoy your trip. They will try to accommodate you, if they can.

Welcome to the Moms Panel world!!! Different people have different experiences, which makes it confusing to figure out the correct answer!

I think some attractions allow two additional riders, and some allow four. I don't know why, nor which rides. I would guess that it depends on the seating configuration.

I also agree (as "I Believe"/Kristen mentioned) that how the rider swap pass is implemented depends highly on the CM you encounter, and what their mood is like, the cycle of the moon, and circadian rhythms.

If you have further doubts, I know a great web site that might be able to answer this type of question...

I am curious about how all of the youngest stars reacted to seeing themselves on the website. They were all so cute and they seemed to take their roles very seriously. They did an excellent job!

I wonder how long ago the videos were filmed. It must have been so hard for them to wait!

I thought I'd post a link to details about another Disney-sponsored Mommy Blogger Mixer. (Apparently, the Disneyland Resort in California recently reached out to a group of West Coast moms. The event, which targeted a network of Silicon Valley bloggers, predated the Disney World Mixer in April. It took place in February 2008.)

Thanks so much for posting these. I thought they were all very interesting. I think I most enjoyed this one. From what I see in my hometown and my work environment, I think she represents the typical Disney World vacationer. (Certainly not me though I am always excited about Disney World!) It is especially fun to help people like her plan their Disney World trips as they are often the most surprised at how much fun their children had being swept up in the magic at Disney World. These parents don't start off excited, but they wouldn't trade their vacation memories for the world! This blogger said that she about cried watching her kids get caught up in the Disney magic. I know she didn't expect that to happen-- but it did! I think I almost cried too.

I hope the readers of these blogs are inspired to bring their own children to Disney. What a nice way to spread some sunshine!
