Adventures of the "Moms" Panel

I actually just learned about the Mom panel about 3 weeks ago from an announcement on www.freebieforce.com I had no idea it even existed. I have checked it out a few times and love reading the suggestions. I am pretty new to the Disboards too so I am just starting to follow things like the Mom Panel, etc.
I am really keeping my fingers crossed for this. I have loved Disney since I was a little little girl. Ever since I have had a child of my own I have fallen in love all over again with the "wonderful world of Disney". I tear up every time I step onto Main Street and I turned my Disney hating husband into an avid pin trader...LOL. We are very local - passholders - and I am worried that I won't have a chance because I don't have experience in booking flights and extended vacations...but we go every other week and I learn new things every time we go. I am VERY resourceful...LOL
I wish all the Dis'ers who applied lots of luck and I wish myself lots of luck too!! LOL.
Have you loved being on the MP?? I can't imagine anyone wouldn't love it.

Whew - it's in!

I did type directly into the site...but then I copied it back to a word document just to verify spelling etc before submission.

I made it to the "finals" last time...I'm really hoping this year, but we'll see - 19,999 is a lot of competition!

To the current panelists, were you given an option to extend?

I just finished my appy to! Took almost an hour of fidgeting ect.., but I am happy with the result. Who knows what will happen, but it sure is exciting just thinking about it!!

I just turned mine in! I'm so glad I checked here first, because I didn't realize there was a cap on how many applications they would accept. I probably would have waited a few days as my children are running all over the place today.

Anyone who applied for the Moms Panel last year was invited to join a club which was later named Mickey Moms Club (after a vote). We all received a nice welcome package including items with the Mickey Moms Club logo. We also receive semi-monthly newsletters with little downloadable goodies inside. Anyone who applies for the panel this year, will have the opportunity to join the club.

I sent in my application a couple of hours ago and then went out to lunch with my mom and kids to celebrate. In a way, I'm relieved that it's over because I've been stressing about it. This is something that I really want! (I'm sure everyone else can relate to that feeling). I did the best I could and now I'm ready to wait and see if my best is good enough. I'm sure they are going to reach 20,000 apps very quickly. Good luck everyone!

On a side note, how many nursing moms do we have here? What are your plans if you do get picked for the panel and have to leave home for a few days in December? My baby has cut her feedings down to about 4 a day...but I'd not sure if she'll wean before I would have to go to WDW if I got picked. On the other hand she probably wouldn't mind weaning, I would! It would be great if others were in the same boat. I'm glad I found this thread!

Anyone out there having a difficult time submitting the app? It keeps coming back that I have "inappropriate" content in the "Expertise" section??? I am so confused! There is nothing that could be taken that way so what should I do? I have re-worked it several times and differnt ways and it will not submit.

Perhaps check for words like "whip" (e.g., Dole Whip). Seriously.

I don't think they would mind if you're pregnant! I went to WDW 30 weeks pregnant with my son and it was a great trip...if anything you would learn how to answer questions people have regarding going to WDW pregnant! Good luck!

I get really hopeful in the contests too...like YOAMD. But my luck is apparently not so good. I have been to the parks and DD about 2 dozen times in 8 months and have not had the opportunity to win any "dreams" yet...although the odds are pretty low in that contest. Maybe with a 1 in 20,000 chance I will do better...LOL (or is it 16 in 20,000??)

I realize what an enormous and wonderful opportunity this is that Disney is giving to every day people and just want to say, THANK YOU WDW for giving us the chance to fulfill not only some of our own dreams but being able to be part of making other's people's dreams come true too.

Cool. I think Erin figured that one out a long time ago when she tried to describe the Kitchen Sink (and the whole can of whipped cream), and the system didn't allow it.

I think you also can't talk about Virgin airlines.
