Congratulations, Panelists, on your contract extensions! (It truly comes as no surprise, considering all of your hard work to make the
Disney Moms Panel a success!

The Disney execs know a good thing when they see one! In fact, I suspect there will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth -- from the Disney bosses, not
just the Panelists

-- once it's time to let you go.)
Again, congrats!

Oh, and because I'm naturally curious...

I hope you don't mind my asking, but I was wondering: How did the Disney folks break the exciting news to you??
You guys really are the best! These amazingly kind words mean so much from you guys who are "in the know." So special!
As far as the "break the news" thing goes, it didn't really go that way exactly. What happened was, several weeks ago, the CMs asked us if we WANTED to continue on for another six months. Can you imagine??? We were given some time to decide, but I think Leanne had at least half a dozen "yes" emails in her inbox within the hour. Obviously all of us decided to stay on. (Shocking, I know

).
As far as what's happening with the next group, we really have no idea. I think many of us would LOVE to help train the next crew or work on the selection process, or sell popcorn at the Magic Kingdom, anything really. But as far as we know, we are, as Mr. Ratboy so eloquently put it

, "on the chopping block." That's what we're all expecting to be the case. I'm just grateful to have had the experience for a year.
Also, we don't know anything about the selection process for MP2 other than what Laura said in the interview posted earlier (and even that was news to many of us). If we get any info we can share, we'll certainly pass it along.
And with that EE5K thing ... can I just say I am TERRIFIED about this. I was NEVER an athelete. I am the ultimate school newspaper, drama club, yearbook committee kinda gal. I was never into sports or exercise at all. But everyone on the Panel was so enthusiastic about the race, that I couldn't say no. I've been training for about 2 months so far. And I'm proud to say that earlier this week I ran 2.5 consecutive miles for the first time in my life. I think in another 2 weeks I'll be able to do a full 3 miles. Then, I'm going to get off the treadmill and take the running outside for the summer so that I'll be OK in the FL heat. So, in addition to the great life experience, cool trips to Disney, and meeting so many fabulous people online and off, I can add an improvement in my health to the list of benefits of being on the Moms Panel!
