There is a treasure hunt of sorts. Maps are available on the Frontierland side of Pirates of the Caribbean. There is a small building where you can get them. At WDW, I don't know if they do this at DL.
I remember doing this many years ago - maybe about 10 years ago - with my kids and thinking it was pretty fun. A good activity especially if it's mid-day and queues are long for all the attractions.
We did this a decade ago with our young kids and then did it again a couple of years ago with our older teenage kids, and it was still very fun. The clues and actions are very similar to the DuckTales (formerly Phineas and Ferb) adventure in Epcot, just instead of getting clues and watching videos on your phone, you follow the clues on a map. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with kids. But it would be pretty fun for adults who like that kind of thing as well. Certainly worth your while if you’re waiting for a lightning lane, or just want a fun break from lines. One cool thing used to be that when FastPass+ was a thing they would give you an anytime FastPass to Pirates if you completed 3 of them (or something like that). I assume they don’t do that anymore.
