We are thinking about going to WDW in Jan. 2014. In the past I have always done the planning for our trips to WDW. I love the planning process. I was thinking about using a Disney Authorized travel agent for this trip. I was wondering what the advantages to using a travel agent are. Have book through AAA before but that is all. Not sure it would be worth it or not for our family. This trip will be a Christmas present for our boys.

I use a TA for my trips. She is a friend. I have a busy household and can never get the time to talk on the phone so I just send her a message on FB and she takes care of it for me. Also she gets paid so it helps her out too. Occasionally you can get little sprinkles of pixie dust too. My TA for my sept trip with my DD upgraded up to a preferred room. Not much but nice and I am sure the less walk to the room at night after NOJ will be nice.

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say this on here, but...I recently became an authorized Disney travel specialist. I have been a long time Disney fan, and decided that since I've helped so many of my friends and family plan their trips, as well as mine, I might as well get credit for it. The advantages of having me, or another travel agent, book your trip are essentially the same as using AAA, however I like to think I give more of a personal service to my clients. I search the Disney sites for deals and discounts daily, get updated through their travel agent website so I know if there is a new deal available for you. I can make your dining reservations for you, and once you book your trip, I can provide you with as little or as much help planning out your days as you would like. I take at least 1 trip a year to WDW with my family, so I can offer touring plans to you based on your family's needs. The long and short of it is, if you like to plan your trip (I was always a binder and spreadsheet planner and consider the planning as much fun as the actual trip) then you may not have a need for a travel agent. If you are a busy parent and don't have time to plan your trip or call to make changes if a special offer comes out, then a travel agent may be perfect for you. I hope this message helped you out, I in no way am trying to push myself on you, but I would love to help plan your vacation. MODS if this is not allowed, please delete..
