Advance request for bedrails/waterproof sheets?

Do I need to call Disney in advance (I made room-reservations myself) and request bedrails and/or waterproof sheets for my 3 yr old son? Or is this normally done at the time of check-in at the resort - my concern is that they may not have enough. We will be staying at BLT in May, if that makes any difference. Thanks!

Well, I have put a bedrail request on my reservation a couple times and it doesn't seem to make a difference since I've still had to call Mousekeeping for them after we got to our room. That said, we've never been told they didn't have any. Have no experience with the sheets.

We just returned from the POLY and when I spoke to housekeeping about this they told me they put a shower liner around the mattress.

we had the request for bedrails in the ressie. When we checked in (used on line check in) we reminded them about the rails. Some one from Mousekeeping brought them up within 30 minutes and set them up.

One of the few times that my request was *not* granted was for bed rails. Apparently, they were out (and I even called housekeeping and begged. I just need one!) The other times we've gone it has not been a problem -- we requested and we received (and they've always brought a pair) .

If you really, really, really, really must have bedrails, bring them from home. (My sister owns some that fold down to fit in a suitcase.) There is a good chance they'll be able to accommodate you, but requests aren't guaranteed. And you could end up like me trying to figure out what to do with a sleepy toddler on your hands.

Thanks everyone for the tips and advice! I have called reservations and added in our bedrail request (I'll just bring DS's waterproof bedsheet and he can just sleep on top of it on the bed). I'm hoping not to have to bring our own bedrail - ours does fold up and it could fit into our largest suitcase BUT it would take up too much valuable space!

Wouldn't it just be easier to put a pull up on him at night so housekeeping doesn't have to deal with wet sheets? That is what we did with our son who had bedwetting problems. We even did this at home. It was a pain to change wet sheets and disinfect a matress cover daily. Just a suggestion.
