Adults only resort on property

What makes you think some 20-somethings or 30-somethings wouldn't be blaring the music at the pool.

they might be. but the DJ's (we call them yellow jackets, cause they wear yellow shirts) are definitely there, every afternoon. and the music is loud. and the mikes are set to "loud". I aksed them to trun it down a touch and they replied that they are supposed to have the mikes on loud.

as long as the kids playing the game can here them, I don't see why it has to be SO loud that you read the same line in your book over and over.

or drinking and shouting in the hot tub.

I have never seen adults shouting in the hot tub. I have often seen kids yelling, crying, whining, splashing around in the hot tub.

(why would anyone care if someone else is drinking in the hot tub?:confused3. I have seen that often. no one was screaming or yelling. just chit chatting iwth each other.)

getting off topic a bit (sorry about dwelling on the yellow jackets), but if they are going to blare the pre-teen "pop" music, why don't they at least turn off the great60's music in the background at pop century.

I love the music, but it's disconcerting, a cacaphony, if you will, to hear 2 dif. songs at the same time.

I definitely would. We don't have kids and we don't mind kids in the parks (except for the screamers) but would be nice to be able to come back to an adults only place. For the heck of it lets make it an 45 place that way it won't be party central for the Bachelor and Bachelorette bunch.

I've never seen anyone at Disney with a radio or CD player at the pool. Does this happen? It would be simple enough for Disney to make a "no music allowed" rule, or to play their own music that isn't quite as obtrusive and loud as the kids' DJs.

I've never seen patrons of a resort show up at the pool with a microphone, amplifier or speakers, but should it ever happen, I'm pretty sure they'd be shut down by the staff.

This is just a hypothetical thread. Kids are great. If it weren't for them, we'd be obsolete. Adults are great. If it weren't for them, we'd have no kids, or anyone to take care of the kids.

they were singing - it was not singing it was shouting - they were drunk - very drunk.

had to call the security guard to get any sleep. when anyone kepts me from getting a good night sleep - definitely going to remember the nuts.

Love kids. Mom of two boys (16 and 18). I would stay there.

The thought of reading a book by the "big" pool without listening to pre-teen pop music blaring sounds heavenly. (And no matter how far away you move, you can't escape those DJ's in the afternoon.) And as goofy4tink said, kid-free hot tubs would be nice. Make them a little deeper so that the water comes up to the shoulders instead of your waistline, and make the temperature hotter. When you go to a spa, most places don't even allow kids under 16 or 18 to use the hot tub as it's not good for them.

They have quiet pools so you can get away from the loud music.

ok, not saying it didn't happen. just said I never saw it. one incident. the loud pool parties occur every single day.

guys, this is a hypothetical thread. we are giving reasons why we would like an adults only resort.

it is my opinion, (and others) that the pool parties are too loud. and the music is geared toward junior high kids or younger. and the microphones are set way too loud.

at pop century, our room was very close to the hippy dippy pool. so we hung around there. yea, we could go over to the bowling pin pool, but we went for the convenience.

and sometimes adults like to use the feature pool at a resort (value, moderate, deluxe) and relax. I like music, evenif it's not my favorite music. but it doesn't have to be blasting. and the activities CMS don't need to have their mikes volume up so high.

if there was an adults only resort, this problem would be solved. other possible problems (loud drunks at the hot tub, for example) would have to be dealt with.. but, obviously, that is occurring anyway (although I haven't expereinced it.)

ah, well. miss the good old days of relaxing at the pool midday.

great idea! tee hee, I think that's why some communities are 55 and over. but as long as we're just imagining...

at the pool at the Breaker's resort (on property at Cedar Point, Ohio) they play nice background music. loud enough to hear, but not blaring. there was a couple next to us who brought their "boom box" and palyed their own music. not blasting, but loud enough that everyone around them heard that OVER the background music. but, could still hear the background music, which made it very annoying. I should have asked them to turn their music down (but I didn't).

reminds me of a DSA at Universal studios. it is under covering, and you can hear both the music from Mel's Drive-in AND the music from the lagoon area, at the same time. too confusing... (luckily, we quit smoking!!:cool1:, so that won't be a problem anymore)

I want to be close to the food, drinks and waterslide. The kids have all the other resorts. ;)

:thumbsup2

two adults no kids here :goodvibes(well, cats)

I would stay at an adults only place.
then again, i would stay nearly anywhere at Disney.

you are talking only about the main pool. most disney resorts have several pools - you just need to change where you choose to stay.

don't get by the main pool. at Pop like the lake sde - it is quieter and you get a nicer view (my opinion)

even offsite you get the music at main pool thing - so don't think Disney is the only one during this.

besides lots of time it is for the adults - just listen to the music being played - it is not the current hits.

at pop they tried at first to have an inside lounge and outside bar. the lounge did not work - but the outisde bar did - why? some think it is the music.

people are going to "camp out" at the pool closest to their room at the value resorts.

at the moderate or deluxe resorts, they will stay at the quiet pool close to their room, unless they want the slide, hot tub, etc.

a lakeside room at pop can still be much closer to the hippy dipy pool than the bowling pin or computer pool.

I don't know about the offsite resorts, but at Pop century, the big thing is the culture of the times, the decades. at the 50's section, they play the 50's music, etc. (one reason why I didn't like the computer pool)

a year and a half ago they played the same christmas music in all the sections (made sense). hubby and I noted that it was a reliefwe didn't have to listen to 80s and 90s music, since we were right by the computer pool.

we were surprised that they overran the 60s music with the teeny bopper junk (katy perry, lady gaga, pink, justin bieber, etc,) and very surprised to hear rap.

just didn't like it. but could have put up with it.. if it wasn't BLARING!!!!.

Thankfully we have not ran into the problem of loud music at the pools. I didn't think you were allowed to bring your own stereo to the pool. The music at the Poly is great! It's not too loud and it's relaxing Pacific Island music.

Quiet pools don't mean a quiet area. They just mean unthemed. There are no requirements for people to keep the noise down.

Naw....I love seeing the faces of so many little ones enjoying the parks and resorts :) Then again I have 5 of my own so I'm kind of a kid lover LOL

I've actually been put off more by adults being loud and rude versus kids at the World.
