That vegetarian dish did not sound good to me.
I don't mind paying more for a pasta dish from the kid's menu that is an adult sized portion. The money is totally not an issue.
I just don't want to order something that I won't eat.
Responding to some of the other posts -- I plan on ordering an appetizer, soup and dessert. Mom already plans on ordering the pork chops. So it's not like we're trying to be cheap.
We're not against tipping based on service as opposed to tipping based on the size of the bill.
1st, do you even have DDP? We don't use it, so I don't automatically relate all restaurants to DDP credits or what you can order. It seems most people do though. If you don't plan to use DDP, the appy, soup, & dessert may be all you want. I often order only an appy & dessert, & noone has a problem with it. Naturally, I have a DH, DS(17), & DS's GF who order entrees, along with appys & dessert. It shouldn't matter though, & you did say your mom was ordering an entree. If you do want the child size portion of pasta, they definitely shouldn't be opposed to serving you the smaller portion, if you're also ordering 3 other courses. That's more food than I usually order. If you are on DDP, ignore everything I said. I don't have a clue.

Well, I assume I could pick the chicken out. I love mushrooms!![]()
The soup doesn't have actual pieces of chicken in it. It's made with chicken broth. If you're okay with eating chicken broth, you won't have an issue.
