There are a lot of posts on here about the frequency of 'code brown' incidents in the kid and family pools, but the water in the adult pool can get a little greasy on the longer cruises...after 14 days on our Panama cruises, it looked like the Exxon Valdez...

Do the adult pool get cleaned out at the end of each cruise?

We are going on the EBTA this May and may bring along a few Baby Ruth's to prompt a draining of the swamp...lol

I just seen a article a couple days ago that the average 110,000 gallon pool has 8 gallons of urine in it.

I didn't think most pool water got changed. Don't they just continually add chemicals to existing water? Maybe I'm wrong.

The water in the "kids allowed" pools probably get changed more often due to "accidents". Since "accidents" are rare in the adult pool (at least no visible proof), it probably does not get changed much.

I saw something on TV a few days ago about a mom making her kids get out of a hotel pool because there several men drinking buckets of beer. They had been doing this for hours and had not left the pool.

I avoid pools with swim up bars for this exact reason. Several years ago, some friends and I were staying at a hotel with a swim up bar and the pool water was a significantly different color by Saturday afternoon than it was a day earlier.

At the minimum the water gets changed with each drydock.

I think I've seen the water drained at least once on each cruise, but am not completely sure. I know I have seen it actively being drained several times. Surely someone else here has seen the same?!

Omg gross! And the hot tubs!! Beyond gross....
Use the amenities the first 2-3 days then Avoid, lol!

Just got off the Disney Magic for a 5 night Western Caribbean trip, they drained the hot tubs in both the Goofy pool area and the Quiet Cove pool area every night, I don't know about the pools themselves, I do know that I heard that they had to drain one of the kiddie pools on the 2nd or 3rd day to an accident, but every morning the Quiet Cove pool was crystal clear and didn't have any "odd" color to it.

On one of our Dream cruises we walked by the adult pool at night and it was drained and having work done to it.

They drain the pools often. They have the best water purification system on the planet aboard the ships. All the pools are filled with fresh water.

They drain and clean them most nights. We were on the deck watching this and a movie in the big screen. Kool to see
