We have the dining plan next month, DH, me, DD 11, DS 8, and DS 3. Will the restaurants let my daughter order an appetizer, kids meal, and dessert as opposed to an adult entree?

The CM I spoke with when I was thinking about upgrading my 9 yo to an adult for the plan said that he would be allowed to mix & match if he wanted. My question was about desserts, because DS will want an adult entree, but not the creme brulee, sorbet, or cheesecake that are on most of the adult dessert menus, but I'd imagine it would work the same way for entrees. After all, why would Disney want to discourage people from ordering less expensive kids menu items with their adult credits?

My son was 13 the last time we used the DDP. He tried to get some kid's meals CS at the water park. They wouldn't let him.

It looks like this is another case of the policy depending on which castmember you speak with. :confused3

Very true, although I think that more often than not your DD11 would be able to get whatever she wanted off of either menu; as Colleen27 points out, Disney should be only too happy to redeem her adult TS credit in exchange for something less than the full adult app + adult entree+ adult dessert entitlement. The results would be much more spotty if you tried to order off the kids' menu for her and pay OOP while the rest of your group redeemed DDP credits. That's not the question you asked but it does get asked a lot on this board.

The only reason why they might not go for that is if there are audit and inventory issues. Otherwise, they should allow you to do as you suggest.
