I will be staying at por riverside and depending on disney transportation any suggestions how i can get alcoholic beverages for me to take to the pool. I dont want to pay the bar prices. Is there a store that will deliver to the resort or even a store in the airport?

Check websites for Garden Grocer or Wegoshop. Both will deliver to resorts. Another option is a cab to local supermarkets. Have fun! Riverside is one of my favorites.

A service we have used is call Beer Run. They deliver to all Disney resorts. Hope this helps..........:beach:

We put a bottle of alcohol in our checked luggage. Plastic bottles triple wrapped in ziplocs just in case of a leakage, but no problems. Used our resort mugs for mix.

I didn't want to worry about the hassle of how to find reasonably priced stuff onsite, without a vehicle.

There's no way to buy alcohol to go in the airport unless you can use the duty free shops for international travelers.

You can also take the bus to DTD and go to the Hess Station across the street. I know they have beer and wine, I think a small selection of liquor.

Just place an order with Garden Grocer. Your order needs to be at least $40 and there is a $12 delivery fee plus tip. SO if it will be cheaper for you to spend about $60 to have a bottle or two delivered or if you are only going to have one or two drinks per night then paying resort prices are no different than what you would pay for drinks in a bar. It depends on how many nights you are staying, how many drinks per night you plan on having and what exactly it is you want to drink.

Hiring a cab and going to a liquor store might be a few bucks cheaper than having Garden Grocer deliver.

My Hubby has ran over to Hess across from Downtown, then hopped on our bus and brought it back to the resort :cool1:

The Hess Station is very convenient to POR from DTD, via the water taxi.

Also, I always bring a mug (with Mickey on it of course) to use by the pool. It is insulated; I keep it in the fridge all day and then at night when I get back, it stays cool for about two hours. I bring a variety of crystal light and purchase the liter bottles of water as mixers. Goes great with rum.

I think all the resorts sell beer and wine, and some sell liquor. You could use the monorail to get to the Poly at the end of a MK day. Should be better than paying bar prices.

lol...slightly. :P

All great tips. We drive, so we just bring our own or make a booze stop on the way in. However, when we flew to Denver a couple of years ago, we packed our liquor in those big ziploc bags and put those in checked luggage with no problems. Throw in a pack of solo cups for the pool and you are set.

POR also sell liquor, so that is not a problem; it is the same price at all the resorts, so they don't have to go anywhere else.

However, the cost at the Hess Station is much cheaper and very convenient to the DTD resorts on the river, via water taxi.

Well thank you all for the many responses I like the dtd run across to hess idea very much.:)

We always make a stop in the first day or so at the Hess station or take a taxi to the grocery store a few miles down the road from DTD. For just beer/wine I would go to Hess. If you want to pick up some snacks and/or a case of bottled water then I would take a taxi and pick it up at Goodings on 535. It is a quick stop and cheaper than on property.

I was looking at ordering from Wego Shop or Garden Grocer. Just wondering how much a taxi would cost to go to the nearest store to grab a few food items and beer? Is there a store that sells both? (We don't really have stores in MN that sell alchohol).

Does the Water Taxi actually stop at the Hess Station??
