I have a question for those who has an alarm through ADT not an authorized dealer, do they do credit check or require a deposit? They are coming out on Wednesday.
Yes they run a credit check and if you don't have good credit they will want a deposit.

Got it. When I called them they said no credit check or deposits.![]()
I contacted them again and they said it's required for a special offer. So, now I'm wondering if they're going to come out here and then give me a big fat quote then if I want a special offer, they will run my credit!Under their terms and conditions page it says "Satisfactory Credit History Required" in a couple places![]()

We have ADT. They took a credit card number to hold the appointment but did not charge ahead of time. If they did a credit check I didn't know about it.

doxdogy said:Not true. Deposit is generally is fifty percent of the install price. Also contract is for three years.
Can you confirm if they actually do run credit checks or not? PP said they do not.
I can do three years.
They are coming out Wednesday to do a walk through.
I live in Washington state and they did a credit check when I had mine installed 5 years ago.
Also they have tried to increase our bill by 10 % each year. I call and threaten to cancel and they back down. They did not back down the first 3 years because they make you sign a 3 year contract but the last 2 years I have got them to back down.
Interesting! We are also in WA (well the house with the system is) and all we needed was a credit card, no check that I know of. I could be forgetting but I don't recall doing anything other than providing a credit card number to hold the appointment and then having them install. Curious to see if they try to up our rate. We signed up under a promotion and have had the system for 9 months. I'm sure I'll hear from them shortly if they plan to up the rate!
