So if I've done my calculations right, I've 60 days until I can get my mitts on booking ADR's. Well I say me... We've got CL at BC so I might just take the lazy route!

We'll only be able to book our 7 night ADR's for our stay at BC, and I'll have to wait a bit longer to book my ADR for our night at AKL!

But I want to know your favourites, and why!

There are so many choices, I can't pick! I want to try and get an idea of where's good/recommended so once the park hours are released I can make my plans! We are not on Dining plan this time so all OOP.

Last time in WDW we are only evening TS meals and we did;
Jiko
Beirgarten
Crystal Palace
House of Blues
Portobellos &
Mama Melrose

So we don't want to do any of those again. I'd like to do breakfast one morning at MK so we can be in the park early but not sure Cinderella's Castle is worth it? But as we've not done it, should we at least do it once?

We both like most foods, and prefer sit downs to buffets!

I know there's probably loads of these threads about I'm probably just being lazy!

CRT breakfast is expensive however we have done it twice (once OOP, once DDP) and both times I have enjoyed my food. Not sure it is necessarily good value but certainly something to do once :thumbsup2

Other restaurants we enjoy:

Teppan Edo - good food with a "show"

Artist Point - again good food nice atmosphere

Yachtsman Steakhouse - had 3 meals here last year and all were excellent - onion pull apart rolls, melt in your mouth steaks and as you are staying at BC nice at close ;)

I wouldn't do CRT. Expensive, overrated, and average food.
Eating inside the castle just isn't worth the price. And as far as princesses are concerned, you have Akershus, nothing to write home about either, but much less expensive.

My favorites by far :
- California Grill. Very nice food. Great restaurant (we've done it since refurb) and view of the fireworks from the outdoor deck.
- Artist Point. Food is great, and WL is a beautiful resort (go by boat from MK docks)

non signature include :

- Sanaa. Great food. You can enjoy the animals outside the windows during daylight, and after nightfall there is a nightvision google experience outside the restaurant (not restaurant connected, you can go even without a reservation. Check schedules at AKL)

- Tusker House breakfast. Plenty of food, good character interaction.

- Ohana for Dinner. Keep them skewers coming :) and fireworks from poly beach after the meal.

- Cape May Café for dinner. If you like seafood, try this buffet.

- Coral reef. Good food and the aquarium view is very nice.

- Bongo's Cuban Café. The restaurant that surpised us the most. we had a huge wait to get our food but it was worth every minute of it.

My favourite is Jiko's at AKL. Just love the style of food. I am not into beige type foods (ie, a steak and chips with does absolutely nothing for me), I like to see a lot of colour on my plates and this place provides the colour!:rotfl:

My other favourite is Artist Point at WL, for much the same reason. (mind you I haven't been there for a couple of years or so now so not sure if its changed)

I also really like the Italian restaurant in Epcot's Italy as rather partial to Italian food and wine!! ;)

The one I still haven't done but have every intension of doing this November is Saana's at AKL/Kidani Village. :)

My least favourite is Teppan Edo...had an awful meal in there and didn't think much of the chef at all. The other one is Boma's, which used to be on my to do list, I found that had gone down hill enormously and was just too loud in there.

Last year we ate at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and loved it. Without a doubt one of the best steaks I've had, and certainly the best steak on WDW Property.

We also really enjoyed BOG, but that was heavily weighted towards the actual location/setting etc rather than the food. It was fine, nothing amazing or wow, but it was a lovely evening meal and was a bit indulgent to enjoy a glass of wine prior to watching wishes!!

We really enjoyed breakfast at Crystal Palace if you want to eat at MK. We went for the earliest ADR and got some great photos of the Castle without other people around.

'Ohana was a lovely experience for dinner. We had cocktails before dinner, including non-alcoholic ones for the kids. We got leis which the girls loved and the open firepit, polynesian singing/games was great. The food is plentiful and the dessert was to die for. Afterwards we went down to the beach and watched the water pageant and the fireworks from a hammock.:thumbsup2

Thanks all for your suggestions!

Seems Artist point at WL might have to get added to our list as everyone has noted it! Can you see the water parade from WL or am I getting confused with somewhere else?

We loved Jiko last year but as we are only on WDW property for 8 days this year againn (4 nights on the cruise) I want to esure verywhere we go is new!

On my shortlist so far is;

Breakfast;
Cinderella's castle before MK opens (mostly to get some nice quiet pics of Main street & the castle before it gets busy!)

Lunch;
Tuskers house -AK

Dinners;
Yatchsman Steak House, we're staying at BC so would be silly not too given its proximity plus looks like a good place for DBF to get his steak fix!
Chef's De France - I really wanted to try this last year but missed it, anyone been before?
California Grill - Heard some good things, and I think it would be lovely to watch the wishes from there.
Hollywood Brown Derby - For the fantasmic package

Then I think Im looking at Saana for our 1 night AKL stay, seems to have better reviews then Boma. Is it easy enough to get to from AKL to Kidani?

Other then that, thats all Ive got! To much to choose from!! :rotfl:

We had an amazing meal at Artist Point - excellent food!

Some pictures to make you hungry!!

Yes you can but not from the restaurant. You need to go to the lake edge. You can see it from the boat dock and from the beach really well.:)

My favourite restaurants are Yachtsman Steakhouse (beautiful steaks), Boma (lovely selection of food) Tusker House (great character interaction and a good breakfast/lunch).

Erm I think to choose my overall favourite this would be quite difficult as last year we had some really lovely meals.
I would say my top choices would be;
1. Yachtsman Steakhouse. Lovely food, not at all rushed, we had a fantastic table overlooking Stormalong Bay and I loved the fact you could watch the butcher at work
2. Grand Floridian Cafe. Food delicious and our server was the most politest we have ever had. The venue is superb and we took a trip into MK after where I wore my tinkerbell light up clip that our server presented me with :thumbsup2
3. Kat Kouzina at the Boardwalk. We paid OoP for the fixed menu as we were on the DDP it was about $20 each and it was worth every penny. Lovely food and a great venue.
All of the above are on our to do list again this year
