ADR's for Ten

We are getting our choices together and will have to reserve for 6 adults and 4 kids. Is is best to try to reserve for 10 or break it up for 5/5 or 6/4? Kids are 7/9/9/10 and we plan to take advantage of EMH in the evening. What time do you suggest we reserve dinners for? Is it easier getting early reservations for 5:00/5:30 rather than later reservations for a larger group? Guessing that sit down dinners will require some waiting even with reservations and we do not want to make dinner a three hour affair. We are new to this so any suggestions would be great.

The group is staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. My research so far indicates that we are closest to Downtown Disney and Epcot. Should we concentrate on those areas for dining or is it just as easy to get to other areas?

If being seated all together is important than you are better off making the reservations for 10 people. Even then, your reservations may warn that you might be seated at more than one table. To be seated together you'll have more luck if you make your reservation for the start of the meal hour (varies depending on the restaurant, but the ressie page will list the hours) because the restaurant will have more open tables. Also reservations can be made 180 days before the dining date for anyone or 180 +10 days for anyone staying at a Disney resort.

If tables for 10 are unavailable, you can try other combinations and ask at the podium to be seated together. CMs will try their best, but there's no guarantee.

As far as which restaurants to choose, we usually pick our restaurants based on what park we'replanning to be at or what resort is near that particular park.

We were a party of 11, I booked at the 180 day mark tried for the time the restaurant opened. All signature restaurants, we were seated together at every restaurant. Pixie dust your way.
