Just wondering if anyone has noticed if the hard to get ADR's are easier now that you make them at 90 days versus the 180 days.

Not for me. And that is not to say, I had a horrible time but I called on the 90 day mark (doing the 90+10 so actually 91-100 days out for some of them) and couldn't get Le Cellier, Chefs De France at all and some of my ADR's I had to get at strange times (mostly very early dinners). This was the first time I flat out couldn't get a couple of things when I was calling on the mark. The cm told me that now that its back to 90, its more important than ever to call on that day. I was able to easily get most everything else I wanted so that was good. Just bummed about Chefs de France, I had really wanted to go there and there was not one lunch or dinner spot open during either of our Epcot days.

I'll also add that if you want table service in DHS and its a Fantasmic day, be prepared to eat at an off time and call as soon as you can. Now that Fantasmic only shows 2-3 times per week, the days its going the park is packed esp. for the Fantasmic dining package.

It stunk for me, I was not able to get chef Mickey, fantasmic package or sci fi what a bummer! I have called back 3 times and now it is only 7 weeks until we depart adn still no reservations for chef mickey, fantasmic or sci FI. When we went in 2005, it was so easy to get reservations, and now it stinks, I asked the CM does she think there will be any cancellations, she basically told me cancellations are not common, so don't hold your breathe, how un disney like:eek:

This was our first experience with the ADR system. Got everything we wanted at 90 days out.

It's going to be easier for us... I don't even have Disney booked or thought of 180 days in advance! (With exception of this year's Christmas trip! :teeth:) 90 days is a lot better and I still have some time for it. With 180 days, it was hard getting reservations because I used to book trips 2 months in advance. This year, we're more prepared.

I found it much harder at 90 days. At 180 days it was easier to get what you wanted because only those of us who are planning nuts called at 180 days. By 90 days most people are making ADR's. The wait on the phone was very long first thing in the morning. Much longer than at 180 days. This just supports my point of more people calling at 90 days.

For those that are calling now at 90 days - didn't people already have a chance to book your dates at 180 days? If I have this figured out right...it should be harder to get ADRs until the last of the 180 day people are out of the system. If this is totally wrong please ignore the whole post!!

I can't remember if it was harder or easier the last time but I this time I was able to get everything I wanted pretty close to the time I wanted. :cool1: I had to wait a long time on hold but overall I was happy with the experience.

I got one tip that was very helpful. The first time I called I couldn't get a fantasmic package. The CM told me to call back exactly 90 days before the day I was going to be in DHS. It was a few days before because of the 90 + 10 rule. Apparently they save some reservations for the 90th day so that people who call that day have a chance. Does this make sense?!? Anyway I called back on the day I was instructed to and I got the fantasmic package. :thumbsup2

It's interesting that people are having mixed experiences. :confused3

I'm expecting it to be harder, because more people will have booked their travel. A lot of people don't plan 180 days in advance, so the pool of people competing for ADRs was smaller. This is the first time I'm actually planning on being on the phone at 7am on my 90 day mark. Usually I call mid-morning on that first day and get everything or nearly everything I want, but I'm not willing to count on that working for free dining.

It was a long wait on the phone, but I got almost everything I wanted. The only thing I didnt get was the Mama Melroses Fantasmic package (at 93 days). I took the Hollywood & Vine one. All the other ADRs I wanted were within 20 minutes of my ideal time. Boma, California Grill, Ohana, Rose & Crown dinners, and 50s Prime Time lunch.

Fantasmic packages are because there are less shows.

I did get everything I wanted, but many people are not now that it's at 90 days.

Ugh - I didn't even know about that, but now that you mention it, I think I heard something about people being grandfathered in to some 180 day deal.
Do you have any idea when the 180 day people will be out of the system?

I completely forgot about checking on this! I just assumed that Fantasmic was every night :rolleyes1!

Tomorrow is my 90 day mark........I don't think I'll sleep a wink tonight!!!!!

I had no problem what so ever. No hold time, everything I asked for with the exception of needing to move my Le Cellier to my second choice of a night (which wasn't a biggie) and I was off the phone with 14 ADRs in 21 minutes total.

Of course, I started calling at 5:58 am Central time, called four times and on the fifth time got right through.

This was the case for June. The 90 day rule was in effect. It sure wasn't easier than 180 days.

These are both very good points. I'm hoping a moderator or someone with in-depth knowledge can provide a legitimate answer. Furthermore, anyone calling recently or in the near future for ADRs, and utilizing the 90+10 rule, is planning on vacationing in WDW between June and August, which, let's be honest, is the busiest, long-haul window of the year. Free Dining in August thru October won't help, nor will the holidays thereafter.

Also keep in mind that in addition to the place you want and the time you'd like, you must consider the # of people for whom you are reserving. Not every TS location has a hundred tables for 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 people. Even if they do, it is an unspoken caveat that "some" CMs will not make a reservation for 3 people even if they have tables available for 6 and above. They will not waste that table on 50% coverage. In short, just because you are told there is nothing available for your requested time doesn't mean that nothing is available. It just means that nothing is available for your party size. Could you request two tables? Possibly, but there's no guarantee they will be available at the same times or even near each other.
