We're cruising on Celebrity and my parents recently did a cruise with them in September so I'm trusting their knowledge! (albeit, it is a different ship). I've only ever been on a Royal Caribbean ship but that was SOOO long ago.

Water temperature doesn't bother me. I'll swim in water that's freezing cold! I've done polar plunge charity events in the past.
Polar plunge?! Oh you're so brave, me I'm like needing time just to get used to the water  it's baby steps then wait, some more baby steps then wait lol

So...question of the day: Who's your favorite serial killer?

I ask because DS25 (autistic) is going to London next month as a school trip. There's a young lady who is his "anxiety buddy"--they're sitting next to each other on the flight to/from England. Yesterday, she asked if he'd go with her on the Jack-the-Ripper tour. He said, "Are you kidding?!? He's my FAVORITE serial killer!" I think he's in love! It was hard not keep a straight face while he was telling me this.

So, anybody else have a favorite serial killer? Who and why?

If I’d had to choose a favorite it would be the BTK just because of how he taunted the police, stopped and then sent another letter years later and that’s what led to his capture. He truly was evil disguised as a devoted churchgoer and family man and his arrogance led to his downfall. I do enjoy watching “murder shows” as the SNL skit calls them because it’s just so baffling to me how anyone can do these horrible things to their fellow man. I think I like the puzzle aspect of it all.

as much as i enjoy true crime shows and documentaries i cannot profess to have a favorite.

i do have a favorite cult though.

I have never played those! My favorite board games growing up were the same 'ol classic...LIFE, Aeroplane Chess (is that the name?) CLUE, Taboo, Cranium.

Oh so games my family's game was Farkle (like Yatzee) played with money (coins). My grandfather would make the triangle shaped boards with leather and pool felt along with the cup.

Electronic games it was Mall Madness and Dream Phone (exact versions pictured below)

Umm...I don't have one...never even thought about it! I would probably creep myself out if I did...lol

I was going to do the one in Baltimore this year, but the fee was too expensive (around $150) and I had something else going on that weekend. They're a lot of fun and plus it's for charity! I did one in Ireland where it was mid December and snowing. I felt like I had hypothermia afterwards 😂

You have to share your favorite cult now, you can’t leave us hanging!!
heaven's gate. i'll say nothing regarding it so i don't violate any board rules and endanger this thread.

btw-serial killers are why there was never news coverage on the tv or radio when my kids were present as they were growing up. i grew up in the area where the zodiac killings occurred (several of the locations were near my home/we frequented) and i remember overhearing the news coverage as a child (esp. the threats he made to kill children on school busses). i doubt my parents knew how terrifying it was to a kid.

There’s no way I could do that I feel freezing at 70 degrees in the A/C, freezing water is a nope from me. I have read that it’s great for recovery from a hard workout and healthy, but still no.

I’m not following it closely but have seen the documentary. Truth is stranger than fiction sometimes in their bizarre case.

So...question of the day: Who's your favorite serial killer?
This is quite funny to see asked today as I freaked my staff out yesterday a bit. Back story is my daughter is looking at schools to go to for Criminology and has major interest in violent crime investigation. She has been working on multiple projects in High School for college credit and other things she is involved in. I had printed off a 70 page monograph of research from experts at the FBI and put in a binder. Well I forgot it laying on the front desk on Friday and when they came in on Monday morning here is this Serial Murder Pathways for investigation. Lets just say it had there brains going as to why this was lying at our front desk of the office. Oops!
