I tend to agree with that ... for the major holidays, we host New Years Eve, Easter, 4th of July, and Thanksgiving and more often than not ... its a lot of running around and preparation to get ready. The older I have gotten, the less inclined I am to host for the larger gatherings. I like the smaller get togethers with a few couples (the ones we Disney with) and thats about it. Of course, we always like when the family is in town for Memorial Day and Disney trips. So this year, we will be in Disney the day after Thanksgiving and New Years Day lol
We will be Disney neighbors! We arrive the Sunday after Thanksgiving- unless thus is one of your DL trips. We have a split RIV-VGF stay for 10 days.

I'm ready. 2023 is for the birds!!

OMG! So you made me look at my reservation - looks like I was thinking I outsmarted everyone by being there the day after Thanksgiving, but I outsmarted myself - we are actually arriving the same day as you (Sunday the 26th) but only staying until December 1 - but wait for it - we are at the Riviera as well!!

Great minds...!!!

I'm with others on not wanting to fuss over a big meal. We're doing turkey because DD19 doesn't eat beef or pork. I did pick up a sale ham, we'll eat that after she's gone back to school (and the turkey's done).

And I can't say enough good things about Publix's fancy cakes. Did I mention that they're all on sale this week? If you live near a Publix--run, don't walk. You need to order 24 hours in advance, and they're closed on Sunday. You're welcome!

Their carrot cakes absolutely rule. Whenever I go into a Publix, I have to walk past the bakery section or else I'll be stocking up on JUST carrot cakes.

Reverting back a 100 pages to the Hardee's discussion. I made the horrible decision to order a fast breakfast from McDs before we left for the day.

Me thinking a steak biscuit at McDs would taste like a Hardee's biscuit

*** :crazy2: :crazy2: :headache: :crazy2: :crazy2: ***

And DHs tea came in a cup about 3 inches tall.

PSA: Never make our same mistake

What two words do not go together?

IKR!!! Oh my word...it was like they took one of their miniscule hamburgers, added some funky seasoning, and their grated onion. It was so bad. Of course DD tries it, says yum...I say, you can have it...she says nope! Lol

Thats precisely what they did :P

Is this new or reserved for top tier hotels? DS#2 went and stayed in a Disney hotel and he had to put together a package of room, tickets and dining plan. They were not included. He was going last summer and same thing (ended up canceling).
I'm not sure if it's a new thing, but it's for all DLP resorts. If you want to stay at the value one, you just pay less but park admissions still included. I went on the site last night again just to make sure, I couldn't even find option to book rooms only. You can buy tickets only but I couldn't figure out how to price out just rooms (and hopefully it's not that I'm stupid and couldn't figure out! LOL). For tickets, if we were to do 3 days, it's $512USD. But if I do a 4-night stay its' $2,078 (Newport Bay Club. If you do Sante Fe or Sequoia Lodge those are about $1,700) So I'm guessing they just automatically tag on the park tickets. But it's still better value than DL in Anaheim.

The seats were $600 each I got 4, my two girls and my son’s girlfriend and her mom are going. They are all way bigger fans than I am. It was the Wild West trying to get tickets added to the cart that would actually stick, it was a you get what you get situation. At one point I had floor seats at $2000 a piece show up as available but I’m glad they didn’t get those as it’s so much harder to see and my son’s girlfriend is petite. They have good seats in the lower bowl about mid stage (she has a really long stage set up). I believe they held back the highs cost seats for the capital one presale vs the verified fan one the day before. Since it’s in Tampa my husband and I are going to Berns steakhouse after we drop them at the stadium and we will pick them up when they are done. It’s a win-win for everyone as that’s our favorite restaurant ever!!
I think those seats you got are perfect! I am the same way about concert seats, I can't do general admission or anything too low or else I might not be able to see! You all will have a great time!! I am a little envious!!😍

We went to a Toby Keith concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville years ago. The acoustics were so terribly bad we could not hear him at all. I pulled a Karen and complained after and got 4 free floor seat tickets to any show. I was NOT expecting that at all.

We ended up with Kenny Chesney tix during his hey day. This was before we moved to Nashville so we ended up not able to go from NC. Sold them on Stubhub for $$$$.

I guess that makes me a terrible person. At the time it seemed like the right thing to do...

Yeah I tried too. But it's not that the tickets are included, it's that they are forcing you to buy the tickets. I priced out DS trip, I then looked at what the tickets would cost. I removed that cost from the room "package" cost and the rooms came to WAY MORE than he had paid last trip. So they have raised the price of rooms AND forced you to buy tickets.

Goooood morning party animals!!! 🙋‍♀️😁 Happy FriYAY!!!!:tigger: Just jumping on to catch up real quick before my crazy day starts! Friday is my busiest work day (it's so wrong I KNOW!) so will "see" ya again when I take a break somewhere!!

We don't celebrate Easter, unless my in-laws are around then MAYBE. But even if we did, we would go out. I am the only one that cooks and I'm not doing that for all holidays! Thanksgiving and Christmas are my stretch!
