adjusting recent add-ons?

I added on 56 points so I would have the 216 for a 1bdr. Two days later, I need 217. I called my guide and she sent me new paper work for 60 points. As long as they have a voice mail from you they have to honor it. I hope you hear from your guide soon

Called my guide about the same problem and she said not to sign the papers she just sent me. She will rework my contract and send me new NEW papers to sign. No biggie per her words.

Interesting! I cannot even get my guide to call me back. :sad2:

I was in the process of adding 2 51-point add-ons at BLT when the new charts came out. I had received my contracts, but had not signed them yet. I called my guide, but got his voice mail. I let him know that now the 51-point contracts were not going to work for me with the new point requirements, and that I was not happy. He never called me back. 3 days later I called him again and told him I was not signing the contracts. I also called Quality Assurance and told them, just in case they were expecting the contracts back. I asked both to call me back. Its been 5 days, and neither my guide nor Quality Assurance has called me. I did notice that the 2 contracts are now missing from my account on dvc.com, so i guess they got my message.

The thing is, had my guide called and told me I could add a few points on each contract, I would have done it. I didn't even know it was an option. :confused3

You are lucky that you have a guide that actually wants to help you. I was not thrilled with the point chart changes, but I am even more irritated by the lack of communication.

He did not call yesterday even though he was on the schedule. I guess I'll call the main sales # today.

Apparently he called while I was outside & left a message.

He will be out until Sat. (which he repeated 4 times during his message) & he will call me back on Sat. to get my credit card # again.

Then they'll send out new paperwork.

ok, see it's things like this that are making me second guess myself about wanting to buy into DVC. How do they justify doing this when they promise you the points will never change??? I just attended their little presentation this month and that's what I was promised!

A reminder that all discussion about the points reallocation are limited to this thread.

If this thread strays too far from the topic of add-on adjustments, we'll need to close it.

Thanks, and best of luck with the add-on re-writes. :)

My guide never told us the points would never go up.
He said the total for the week could not change for that resort when you averaged the whole year .
He did not give us a heads up that this was coming.
And I am a little worried that these changes may continue until all weeks and all seasons are about the same cost.
Then that would mean we didn't buy enough.
And we bought all I feel we should.

I had purchased a 70 point contract a couple of weeks ago, and then turned in my signed contract. Right after that, they made the announcement of the reallocation, and I was pretty much resigned to the fact that I would not have enough points for my initial travel plans (with bank and borrow). When I called Quality Assurance to pay the rest of my balance on the purchase, I mentioned this fact. The CM was nice enough to let me know that since the contract hasn't gone to closing, I could still make changes with my DVC guy. So, the next day I changed my add-on to two 50-point contracts. This way, I have enough for any future change in point allocation. Plus, I was still able to qualify for the $5 discount and developer points! In my case, the timing of my purchase was such that I was not too late to change my mind. There was a silver lining in all this.
