Adding points at BWV---MB 2002 or 2003?

If I add 100 points by May 31, 2003 for a June use year, which years' points am I giving up for MB? 2002 or 2003? Should it be 2002 since 2003 points are awarded June 1?

For a June use year you would be selling back 2003 points.

If you buy prior to May 31, 2003 you will not be eligible to use MB. If you wait till after June 1, then you will be able to sell back your 2003 (June 2003-May 2004) points.

We added on at BWV 100 points on April 27. We have an August use year.

We used Magical Beginnings and sold back 2002 points, so we still have points to use on August 1, 2003.

I do not know how other use years may vary this fact.

I received an email last week that stated:

I'm still confused. If I buy before 2003 points are awarded, wouldn't I be using 2002 points for MB?

no, that is not the way Disney handles MB.

for current owners looking to add-on, in order to sell back any 2002 points, you must buy the add-on BEFORE your 2002 Use Year 50% banking window has expired.

for June Use Years, the last date you could've banked 50% of your 2002 points is Feb 28th.
if you had added on before 2/28, you could've done MB on your add-on points.

right now, only Sep, Oct, and Dec Use Years have the option of using MB and selling back some 2002 points.

i believe you basically can think of it this way:

as long as you can still bank the add-on points, then you can choose to use MB on them instead.
right now, June UY's can only bank their 2003 points, so 2003 points are the only ones that can be used for MB.

Thank you disneyberry! I was about to post a question about MB for September use years. I really want to add-on at BWV and use Disney financing. Very tempting!

Yes, we decided this was the nudge we needed, and called our guide about a week ago to start the addon process for BCV with MB. We also have a June use year, so he asked us to please call him on June 1st with our CC# for the down payment, and we'd be on our way. They cannot use points we haven't yet earned.

I appreciate the clear explanation relating to the banking windows, disneyberry, that really makes sense.

Now I'm just nervous that June 1st is a Sunday... I bet the guides will be swamped returning calls on Monday 6/2! Or do they work on Sunday and return calls? Anybody know?
