Hey guys, we may be adding one person to our trip in December which would require us to add one to our ADRs.

Is this possible? Can they just modify the ADR or would they have to check for another available ADR?

How many to how many? An odd number to an even number, likely no problem. Even number to odd number, they'll probably have to assign you to a larger table = likely a problem. CALL! If they can't simply change your count, make a SEPARATE reservation for the additional person/s as close to your own as possible; check in together, early if possible, and ask to be seated together. Then be patient.

I would go on line and make ADRs that include the additional person. This is especially important if you're going from an even number to an odd number of people because you'll need a different size table. Keep trying if you aren't successful at first - you aren't going until December so there is plenty of time for others to cancel ADRs, even for the hard to get places.

We're in a similar situation in that one person in our group won't know if he will be able to come, but I made all our ADRs to include him. I think it will be easier to have one less person show up at the restaurants, than one more.
