My husband and I currenlty have points at AKV with a user month of December. We are looking at adding on. I had a few questions and I apologize ahead of time if they sound somewhat stupid.. but here they go.

1. If we buy resale how difficult will it be if we had a different usermonth/resort.. example being if we bought 50 OKW points user month being April.

2. would I be able to combine my 50 okw points with my 160 akv points..?

Thanks..

Different use years remain different. At 7 months out you could not "combine" the points in the usual sense where you can can just treat them all as one for making a reservation. Instead, you could use the AKV points for some of the nights of a trip and then the OKW points for other nights and then link the reservation so it becomes one reservation. But you cannot take some of the AKV points and mix them with some of the OKW points to reserve a single night with both unless you do a transfer from one contract to the other.

Also each contract would retain its own banking window. In addition, if your question goes to 11 months out, then only the AKV points can be used 11 months out at AKV and only the OKW points can be used 11 months out at OKW, but that would be true even if they had the same use year.

ugh.. this sounds difficult. Would my best bet be getting AKV points for the same user year I have now? IF so Could I combine those points.. for 1 reservation?

If you buy AKV points in the resale market with same use year you have now, Disney will make them part of the same contract group (although make sure that request is put in before closing so it is done by Disney) and thus all the points would be treated as combined for purposes of use and banking. If you buy an add-on of AKV points from Disney, you will get the same use year and they will all be part of the same contract group for purposes of using them and banking.

As stated already, you can only combine the points if the OKW contract is truly an "add on" to your AKV master contract (same UY, same wording on the deed). But even with an add on, you cannot combine the points for a reservation at 11 months out, only at 7 months or less from check in. Until you are within 7 months of check in, only your AKV points can be used to book nights at AKV and only your OKW points can be used to book at OKW.
