I too, had made my reservations for the HRH b-4 becoming a Loew's blue member. When I got my card, I called the hotel. I was told to show it when I checked in.
So, upon arrival, I again told them I was a Loew's member. They took my card for a moment. I was told there were no upgrades available, "you did get a good rate for the room" was what Jerome said to me. Now, I had booked through a travel agent back in October. I did not use any Entertainment book, or any other discounted rate.
I said fine about the upgrade, I really didn't care. We were in room 5093, garden view and it was really beautiful.
I never received any amenity, asked 3 times. The third time, I was told by front desk that people at HRH's front desk are not fully trained and knowledgable re: the Loew's benefits/membership.
Whatever. My vacation was still great, with or without an upgrade or fruit basket!
I guess my point here is, don't be disappointed if you get nothing out of the Loew's membership. (Afterall, it is free)
