Adding an extra day on to a Magic Kingdom MYW ticket

Hi all,

I need some help with a ticket question I have please - I am from the UK and we are extremely lucky here as we just receive a 7/14/21 day ticket when you book with Disney which includes water parks and park hopping. I am reading about Magic Your Way tickets and getting a little confused hence my question below!

Just before our last visit we bought a 1 day MYW MK ticket as we extended our trip by one day but it did not get used. Now on our upcoming December trip we are the parks, then on the Fantasy and then back to the parks for 2 days so we were just going to use those MK tickets one day and have a releaxed check out day the next day. However our flight back isn't until late on in the day so we are thinking about visiting Epcot as well again. Do I need to just buy a 1 day Epcot ticket direct with Disney or do I get a little discount at all by 'upgrading' the 1 day MYW ticket?

Just stop at any guest relations which is found at the entrance of every park and they can sell you the upgrade to a 2 day ticket (at the current cost difference).

Because the ticket is older and the prices have changed for 1 day tickets. Use the ticket to get into the park and then stop at guest relations before you leave if you still want to add the day. Using the ticket first will price bridge it so it's the value of what a 1 day ticket costs now (and will make adding a day cheaper). If you decide you dont' want that other day, you just saved money by not adding it on early. If you do, you just saved money by using it first to make the ticket more valuable before the upgrade.

pro tip: a good guest relations CM will price bridge it without using but that is rare.. using it first makes it so they don't need to remember to price bridge it and just makes it easier. Also in this case, since your unsure if you want that second day. enjoy your day and add it if you still want it at the end of the night.

Price bridging is the exact same procedure whether the ticket has been used or not used.

If the OP's one day ticket was purchased directly from Disney and wasn't part of a package, it won't be price bridged no matter what they do with it first.

OP, it may or may not be cheaper to upgrade your existing ticket, depending on how & when it was purchased.

EDIT: Now that I think of it actually, one-day tickets from before this recent price change are the same price value as Value season tickets, they're just valid on any season's days. Bridging is a non-issue here unless OP bought the ticket prior to the last price change before this one.

Thanks both. Bought the ticket in summer 2014 (sorry can't remember exactly when) so don't think price bridging will be allowed?

Sorry for being slow with this, just never had to think about it before with the way our UK tickets work!

So if I go to Epcot it is going to cost me the $100 plus tax? I thought it would but just didn't want to risk losing a discount where I may get one - Disney are squeezing every last penny out of us all right now!
