I'm feeling gushy today and find the Dis a little depressing this morning (no offense meant to anyone going through a tough time
) So I thought I would add a little love to the Boards
What are some of the little things your spouse (SO) does that show they love you and are thinking about you?
My DH is more of an "actions speak louder than words" kind of guy. He does tell me that he loves me all the time, but we don't celebrate Valentine's Day, he doesn't get me anything for Mother's Day, we usually only remember our anniversary after the fact... no romantic stuff. But he is unfailingly considerate. When he is home and I was still working he would have lunch made, dinner made, the house clean etc. And then last night he told me the sweetest thing over the phone. NB: He works away from home and is gone for 9 days and home for 5 so it gets kind of lonely sometimes and I tend to get a bit paranoid and wonder what he is up to while he's away. So last night he told me that he saves all my texts to re-read when he is feeling lonely and needs a "Sue fix". I think it means he loves me

I am one o fthose people who fills my glass to the brim with ice and then adds drink in the crevices and orders drinks with "extra ice" in the states. We have a small fridge/freezer (standard size in Germany but it is not much bigger than a dorm fridge). I have had the entire freezer taken up with four ice cube trays but that still does not make much--never enough for iced tea. So last week, mid week a elivery showed up unexpectedly at the door from amazon.de it was a countertop ice machine!!!
I have been happily drinking iced tea ever since. DH saw one at the hotel he was at and asked for the name (since it seemed to work well) and ordered it for me. He is a good guy
We always hold hands in the car and at the table at restaurants. He never misses a chance for a quick pat on the butt too.
Do people there still do daily grocery shopping..to the butcher, bakery etc. Last time I went, in 1986, grocery stores like we have here were just starting up and we went every other day to the bakery to get fresh buns for breakfast...what a treat. and to the market every Wednesday and Saturday in the town my grandmother lived. I think I rather envy you the opportunity to live in Europe, from your other posts it seems like you are making the most of it

It is best when he does the early steps (lots of vigourous beating) and I do the later steps (lots of gentle folding)--neother of us makes it nearly as good alone
I know I love him just as much (more if possible) now as I did 13 years ago when we got married (or almost 19 years ago when we started dating)
