add points or get new membership?

right now we have 240 points at BLT. i am going to buy 140 more. the question i have is do i add to our existing or buy another DVC. use use year is up jan 31. if i add before end of jan they will bank newly purchased 140 points for use year 2010 and we wont have to pay any dues for 2010 either. if we buy new we will get a different use year and not get the points we would for 2010 by adding. i think adding is the way to go but just wanted a confirmation..thanks to all!!!!

If you buy new, through Disney, they will always give you current UY points. At this point, every UY is still in their 2010 UY, so whether you buy and stay with your Feb UY, or ask for a new UY, you should get 2010 UY points.

We owned two UY's at one points, and IMO, they are not worth the trouble unless you have a real specific reason to have them.

They will be different memberships so you will not be able to combine the points for a single night without transferring points between the contracts first. If you have to set up a wait list and it will need to pull points from both, again, a transfer would have to be done before you even put in the wait list.

I would go with just adding on to your current membership!
