Many members who add on at a different resort do so to have the 11 month advantage for booking. What they do is bank and borrow and go every other or every third year.
For example, suppose you have 50 points at BCV and you want to stay a week in a studio during the Magic season of 2003 (134 points). Bank the 2002 points and borrow 34 points from the 2004 allotment to gert the 134 points required for the 2003 use year stay. Then you would bank the remaining 2004 points into 2005 and start the process again. In this way, you could stay at BCV once every three years or so.
Remember you can always use the 11 month window to book as long as you have points available at the time of the actual stay.
In between the BCV stays, you use your other home resort points to get the 11 month advantage there.
