We are looking to add some resale points now that we have our original contract paid off. We want to buy at the same resort and use year. I'm wondering how the new contract will show up in my account. Since the resale points will have restrictions that my direct points will not, is it easy to tell which contract is which so that I am using the right points? Hope that makes sense. :-)

As long as the UY is the same and it's titled in the same names, it will appear as a separate contract under your existing membership.

Same UY and same names (spelled exact same) on contract will go under current membership. When you got to book a resie both contracts and points available will show up where you can select which to use 1st and which 2nd.

Thanks for the response. So, we should just make sure we don't buy the same amount of points the second time . :-)

Might want to buy more or you may be back in the market in a year or 2 ;).

Each contract will have a number like 3337888.0 and then 3337888.1

I read a post where someone had issues booking Moonlight Magic when they used resale points for a reservation. They also had direct points and assumed since they were blue card members there wouldn’t be an issue. Not sure if it was finally resolved.

When a contract is added to your account, it will be listed with an ending of .02.

I have two contracts in one of my memberships and even though they are different resorts, the SSR contract is always first choice as that was the one added first To the membership,

So, I would assume, even if the same resort, it would show that way.

In terms of booking new resorts, including RIV, the one contract you own that has valid points will be the only one that shows up.

In terms of MM, I had no trouble getting tickets, even though the reservation was made with my unqualified SSR points because the membership was a blue card membership due to having RIV points in the account.

Yes, I think the problem with booking MM would be if an owner has 2 memberships/UY and one of them is not a blue card membership and they booked room with that. Though, when you book MM it asks for membership #, right? ANd just put in the qualifying membership.

Yes, it asks for membership #. What I read was that people who had a reservation not booked on the qualifying membership called MS prior to the reservation date and made sure it was somehow linked to the qualifying one so it would work!

For last year's MM, we had to call to note our valid membership on a reservation made with unqualified points.
For this year's MK MM & same circumstances, I forgot to call (oops:o), but still received email & was able to register without a problem. BTW, you must enter the membership that the reservation was booked under on the MM sign-up page, even if that is an unqualified membership.
Best thing is to call in advance to ensure a valid membership # is attached, but if not, it appears sign-up will likely work.
