I know there are multiple posts regarding add on contracts, but I could not find this scenerio answered so thought I'd ask.

I know you can only book with your add on points for that resort at the 11 month window (cant use SSR points to finish off a resi at BWV). My question is, can you just transfer or "rent" these points to yourself and swap them from contract to contract.

I am thinking about adding on 25-50 points at bwv or bcv but obviously I may end up in a situation where I dont have enough points and want to try to tap points from my SSR contract.... wishful thinking?

An Add-on is simply a subcontract of your master contract and the points added would already be in that contract so there is no way to transfer them to yourself and no way to use them prior to 7 months if they are for a different resort.

If you purchase a separate contract - either thru resale or a new contract of 160 or more points thru DVC - you could transfer them between the contracts (one transfer could be done each year since that would use the "one transfer per member" limit), but the 7 month rule would still apply since the transferred points will retain the original Home Resort status.

Don't forget, you can bank and borrow with DVC. A very powerful option IMHO.
