Thought we would escape it, but the darn one bedroom over our Christmas trip roped us in. Thought about adding on at a different resort but ended up doing 125 more points at SSR which should make it possible for us to do 2 out of 3 weeks each year in a 1BR (we typically go 2 weeks in summer and 1 week in December).

It’s real for sure. Congrats!
Thanks. It originally was going to start w/getting enough to book at 11 months at either BWV / BCV / BLT (studios at all), but once we thought about it it seemed like getting enough at SSR so that we could book 1 BRs at 7 months made more sense to us given that availability is typically quite good for 1 BRs at that point.

We love the 1 and 2 bedrooms!

Just made an offer on a small resale contract. That will be our 4th contract - two resorts. It's a real disease. LOL

It really is! We got two DVC contracts last year and I'm already looking to add on another 100-150 points. lol

I am really feeling this with you today! Congrats, and enjoy spreading out in your 1 BR!

Im right there with you. Our bid just got accepted for a resale for another 150 points at SSR. Now Im trying to figure out how long it will take me to save for a third contract lol. Hoping to get past ROFR. We love the one bedrooms

The one bedroom life sucked us in as well.

We added on last year for this very reason!

Because they cost twice as much as a studio but don’t really sleep more people.
Not only do they cost twice as much in points, but they don't cost twice as much in cash. So not only are you spending more points-per-night, you're also spending more points-per-dollar-of-rack-rate-saved.

Very true since most cash paying guests want hotel rooms and for Disney thst cash on villas is all profit anyway.

But, they are worth every point!

Wow,.....I never even thought of the one bedroom being a bad use of points. We sometimes book them because we have two sons (18 and 21) who sometimes go with us (but not all of the time now that they are away at college), and its nice to be a little more spread out, but we don't use the kitchen, and rarely use the washer.....so we are sort of wasting points when we could be going more. Definitely something to think about. We just added on (waiting for ROFR) so as they find girlfriends etc, we can do two bedrooms or even a two bedroom and a studio etc when they join us......that's needed, but right now, I guess the one bedroom really isn't (we have done a studio in the past two years, and it was fine).

IMO, there are quite a few of us who do NOT think 1 bedrooms are a bad us of points. We sure don't, LOL. Of course, we are not park commandos anymore and spend quite a bit of time relaxing in the room..

That said, we do stay in studios for the first 2 or 3 nights before a longer stay in a 1 bedroom. Not fond of buses and prefer to walk to the parks/restaurants whenever possible.
