Add day to tickets

I currently have 5 day tickets for me and my family for an upcoming trip. They are non-hopper, no waterparks. Just plain ol' 5 day tickets. I would like to add an extra day to make it 6 days. Can I call WDW world now and have them upgrade to 6 days now or do I have to wait until I arrive and have them do it there at a park?

TIA!

If you booked a package, you should be able to add the day now.
If you have your tickets separate (purchased from UT or the like) you will have to wait and upgrade when you arrive.

I didn't do a package because we are staying offsite but I did purchase the tickets from WDW direct (not UT etc). Does that matter?

You can call, but there is no real advantage in doing so.
(And often, the CM on the phone will tell you to wait until you are at WDW to upgrade.)

A good plan would be to wait until you are at WDW and decide, for sure, that you want to add that day.

You can add the day at any time up until ON the day that you use your current tickets' last asset.

It will cost no more to add it at WDW.

If you got your tickets through Disney you can add now just by calling in. I've done it 3 times now lol. From 3 days to 4, from 4 days to 5 and from 5 days to 6. They probably recognize my phone number now and think "oh jeez, it's the crazy lady who is always adding more days!"

I always comment on this type of thread because I have not been successful doing this over the phone. I have called 3 different times and each time the CM has told me I have to wait to upgrade at the park in person. They have told me they aren't allowed to upgrade tickets over the phone. All 3 of them said that, but it seems like other people are being allowed. It is so frustrating!

I bought my tickets from Disney.

I called about doing this. I bought my tix through WDW also. The CM at ticketing told me they could do it, but it would probably mess everything up in MDE and make it harder to do FP+ etc. so she suggested I wait until I got to WDW and have them do it at GR.

Hint: If you go to DisneyQuest, a waterpark, or Downtown Disney, the lines for Guest Relations are much shorter (for the upgrade) than at the parks. I wouldn't waste time standing in line at Guest Relations at a park (when I could be in the park on a ride), unless it's on my way out of the park.
