Ace, Me, & the Guy with CP *An update on Bill Pg. 70*

Right now I just have one. My neighbor got me an autism awareness ribbon. I have purchased another two for myself. My kids each have 5 right now (two one one shoe, three on the other). I have purchased them each two more (Disney characters as a surprise for the trip). DH doesn't have any on his crocs. I'm not sure if he'll put any on or not. Hopefully when he gets into the Dis-spirit he will want some. :wizard:

Left Shoe: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Autism Awareness Ribbon.

Right Shoe: Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Owl, Lumpy, Autism Awareness Ribbon.

D'ya think its enough???
:confused3

Thanks ladies for the input on the Croc charms, I am thinking I might just buy some Disney ones, also some awareness ones. We will see.

Now onto another installment.

I bet somewhere in the Disney Special Requests computer there is a warning note attached to anything Bill reserves. If I had to guess it probably says “Chances are this guest will change the reservation many times before it is paid in full”. If it does say this, they would be absolutely right.

After we got rejected by Josh for a FREE TRIP to WDW (the boy must have lost his mind :sad2:), Bill’s mind was turning. He knew it upset me about Josh saying no. So Bill started thinking. Do you see a pattern here, he always has his mind brewing with something. This man is truly a prince. He says his goal in life is to make me smile :teeth: at least once a day. So he starts plotting and planning. What would make me happy?

HELLO, being with him here, there, anywhere makes me happy:goodvibes, but he always wants to go the extra mile. So he changed the reservations to Pop Century.

Now, you sit there in front of your computer :surfweb: asking why changing from AKL to POFQ to Pop Century would make me happy when I was happy with POFQ? The man changed the reservation from 9 days/8 nights to 11 days/10 nights. MORE DAYS IN WDW!!!

I was ecstatic, thrilled, amazed and about ten more adjectives I can’t even come up with. That means 2 days each in AK, MK, and Epcot plus the 3 days we were spending in MGM. We are going to take time to look at things this trip, no rushing, no commando touring, just enjoying what Disney has to offer.

That really put my mind at ease about money since we had other mini trips we were doing before Disney. At the beginning of August we went to see one of Bill’s hair bands he liked. When we come home the next day I had an email from Disney Destinations. I looked it over and it had a code, after reading it I thought it probably wouldn’t apply to us and just went about my day.

Later that afternoon I was reading on the DIS (thank goodness for my DIS addiction) and there was a thread about that email, a man had posted about making sure to call, it was a good code. I then thought why not just try to see what would happen. I called CRO and told her about my code, she said she would have to talk to Special Requests because the code was not for king size beds and we needed a handicap accessible room with a roll in shower.

She came back and told me the price, I almost fainted :faint:. I asked her if that included the dining, she said no but she could add it, she recalculated and told me a price: $705 less than what we were paying. Bill said "ask them how much adding one day would be" with a huge smile on his face. I told him no, we were already making the dog stay at the boarders for 13 days as it was.

I couldn't believe the price and the Disney CM couldn't believe it either. Bill's email is through his college, she asked if he was a professor. I told her no he was working on his master’s degree in Rehabilitation Administration. Then she suggested that Bill look into working for Disney, she was in a wheelchair too. I told her about Bill's speech impediment, she said "so" and told me he probably wouldn't work with the guests, but there were many other jobs he could do. She said they call it being "handiCAPABLE" there. Bill had talked about wanting to move to Florida one day, his cough is almost nonexistent there and you never know what might happen with us.

With him, all things seem possible.

Next installment… DIS meets - is anyone silly enough to want to meet us and Passporter’s do I or don't I get one?:confused3

Wow! 11 days and 10 nights!! That is so awesome! We love Pop Century too!

I sure hope Bill gets to work at Disney some day - that would be great! And think of the discounts! :cool1:

I am so happy for you guys! 10 night! WOW!:cool1: That would be cool if Bill worked at disney! If I was there at the time you were I would love to meet ya! Cant wait until the next installment!

:cool1:  WOW! At least two days at each park, and time to explore:thumbsup2. I've only received one code in my life! (That's how I got DH to agree to this trip!). I need to get signed up for codes!!!! Any tips?

mkluvsmickey, we have never been to Pop I am looking forward to it and worried at the same time, LOL. It would be wonderful if Bill could work there. The discounts would be great to have, but I would give all of them up just so he could feel useful.

Who you callin' silly?? Kathy
:rolleyes1 No one, I am not calling anyone silly.

Thank you TinkAsh, I am happy too. Makes me smile just thinking about 10 days there.

Poohtigeey, as for the code, I just signed up for email updates through the official Disney website and was always on there checking prices, etc. When a survey from them would pop up I would take it. I wish I knew how I was picked.

Wow! You guys are going to have sooo much fun!

Thank you DisMomAmy, I have told Bill we have time this trip and to not speed off in that wheelchair and expect me to go jogging after him. This trip will be to really look at the wonderful things around us.

And just because Poohtigeey sweetly bumped my report up, I will post an installment now.

I found a SSW thread on the DIS and have been talking to great people about their experiences and possible DIS meets. Also, Bill and I are looking forward to a special DIS meet on November 6th. We have had the honor of KathyRN137 asking us if we would like to meet her and her family. :grouphug: :yay:

She gave me the PassPorter link. I had no idea what a Passporter even was. It is a guidebook and so much more. I looked at their site and thought I might get it, but wasn’t sure. Then I saw where the new Open Mouse would be available in September, I bookmarked the site and signed up for their newsletter. PassPorter’s Open Mouse description is: Easy Access Vacations for Travelers with Extra Challenges.

Extra challenges that explains us perfectly, with my pooh size issues and Bill with CP (again not Crystal Palace, but Cerebral Palsy). I wish he owned the Crystal Palace, how cool would that be  ?

One day I got an email telling me the 2006 spiral Passporter was on clearance for $1 plus shipping and handling. I thought what the heck, give it a chance. I ordered it then saw on their website they had a “tip of the month” contest. I thought ok, why not submit a tip.

When my 2006 expanded for use in 2007 PassPorter arrived, I went into highlighter craziness. I read it cover to cover and loved it. Now that I have seen a pic of the deluxe addition in KathyRN’s pre-trippie and am jealous and might have to upgrade.
Highlighters are my friends, I love to color coordinate things according to park and such. The DIS has showed me I am not alone in my highlighter/color coding addiction. THANK YOU DIS!!

August was weird, hectic, and stressful. Here is a summary of things that happened:

- 1st weekend – (Weird) Hair band Concert in St. Louis. :rockband:

- 2nd weekend – (Hectic) Three baseball games in St. Louis. The average temperature that weekend was about 102 degrees, not including the heat index. Pooh size Tracy does not like heat stroke inducing temperatures, LOL. It was so hot that even Bill said it was hot. I don’t think in 3 years I have ever heard him say he was hot. :faint:

- 3rd weekend – (Stressful) Bill’s Dad went with members of his church to Honduras to help remodel an orphanage. Why would that be stressful you might ask?? You might say “what a sweet and noble thing to do”. Yes, I agree with you on all counts, but why for Heaven’s sake go during HURRICANE season? We were nervous wrecks here watching The Weather Channel constantly, while he was blissfully unaware of the impending doom (ok that was a bit dramatic, but geez we were worried):scared: .

On top of all this Bill got a bladder infection (sorry if that was TMI). I get worried every time he gets sick. Both my parents have passed away, my brothers live far away. My son and Bill are my life. I am a mother hen when it comes to taking care of Bill.

Bill looked at me and those sweet blue eyes were sad. He said: “I wish Dad was home”. It broke my heart. Bill’s Dad is a loving, funny, and outgoing man. He would do anything for Bill. They truly adore one another. This is the first time I have ever seen Bill worried in the whole time I have known him.

Bill’s Mom on the other hand has always been overprotective, a little bossy, a clean freak, and a very caring Mother. She can be down right hilarious when she let’s her guard down. A very wise DIS’er explained to me the worries of a Mother that has a child with a disability. That the Mother most likely blames herself for the problems her child has. This really helped me understand why Bill’s Mom was the way she is. It also helped me learn to talk with her more and we have become closer because of it. Thank you wise DIS’er, you know who you are  .

- 4th weekend – We can breathe a sigh of relief and let out a squeal of happiness!! Bill is feeling better, the orphanage his Dad was working on has a new roof, and most importantly his Dad is safely home. He called and talked to Bill, you could just see the happiness on Bill’s face. Then his parents ask if next weekend would be ok to come visit?

They usually come to see us once a month. Now if you have been reading my long installments you might remember that we made the first payment on this trip in March. That means that for 6 months we have been failing to mention this trip EVERY time they come.

Failing to mention, omission, LYING :sad2: that is right I said lying – at least in my mind it is. I couldn’t take it anymore. I said: “This is the visit we have got to tell them”. Bill had told me he wanted to make sure we had everything taken care of and organized before we dropped this bombshell on them. Well everything was in place so there was no backing out of it.

Next installment… Do you tell them in the apartment where there are no witnesses to the carnage that may happen, or out in public and hope there isn’t a scene?

So happy for another installment! YAY! Im glad everything is better. Good luck with telling the in-laws!

Thanks for the update! I'm glad your crazy month turned out well! Let us know how the in-law discussion goes. :thumbsup2

Another great installment!:) Reading your report always makes me feel happy!:) Your expression of love for people is touching. We should all talk more freely about our love for our families (especially our significant others!). And of course our love for Disney! I'm so glad that you will be able to relax this time, and really take it all in!

Can't wait to hear more! Did you say that his parents don't know that you have gone to Disney in the past? Maybe I'm remembering wrong?:confused3

Hi! Great TR. Can't wait to hear more. I so excited for your next trip!! I wish we were going that long. BTW I understand the Pooh Size pooh:

Good luck with telling the in-laws!

I went back and forth on this, but kept telling myself we are in our mid 30's, they (his Mom) better get used to us traveling:thumbsup2 .

Thanks for the update! I'm glad your crazy month turned out well! Let us know how the in-law discussion goes. :thumbsup2
I am glad it turned out well too, I was over stressing :scared1: .

Wow!! Finally telling them... can't wait to hear what happens! popcorn::

I was scared, but relieved at the same time. I was hoping I could slip the word "Disney" into every conversation and not worry about it after we told them :) .

Poohtigeey, you are going to make me cry. Thank you so much for your kind words. To answer your question: His parents knew nothing of the previous 2 Disney trips  . Bothers me to this day, but not my parents, it was Bill's decision and I had to respect it.

Hi KimmyDisneyNerd, thank you so much for joining us. The time is flying by, I am in a mini panic daily, LOL.

I decided to try out this t shirt thing every one else is talking about on their pre-trippie's. Here are a couple of pictures of my tries at it.

This is a shirt for Bill, he wanted fireworks and the castle:
