Cast and crew:

Ace(me): 28. United States Air Force. Disney lover as long as I can remember.
DW: Nancy,28. Became Disney lover when we got engaged at Disneyland.
DS: Nick, 5. Had first Disney experience at 3 months old and hasn't looked back.
My mom: JoAnn. I owe my love of Disney to her since she always took us to Disneyland.
My sis: Vicki, 25. Looking for relaxation above all
My brother: Rob, 21. Can finally have a drink at PI
Brother's G/F: Ali. Is she ready for a week with us all?

Since we were in Vegas, much of my extended family wanted to get together for dinner since we were all together. We met up with the big group at a casino up by my mom's house in Summerlin for dinner. We milled around the table for awhile and then stopped to do some gambling. I took $5 and quickly turned it into $30, and that was enough for me. Would it be a good omen. At around 9pm, we piled up to go back to the house to change and load up the cars. My brother had checked the computer at work and only 1 of the 12 first class seats were booked. If the seats are available at the time of the flight, we upgrade for free. So we kind of dressed for it just in case. Loaded up 2 cars to fit all of us and the piles of luggage that would be following us. Got to the airport and Ali went behind the counter herself to help them check us all in. So nice to have "inside connections"! Up to the gate, where we are indeed upgraded to first class (yeah!) and we board. Have a drink and settle in for the movie, since I usually can't sleep on planes. Got through most of "Oceans 11" before I started to doze. Land in Columbus, and board for Orlando. Only a couple open seats in first class so brother and g/f grab them. Quick flight, and we are there. DS has slept most of the trip and is raring to go. I have managed maybe a half hour nap, but that is ok since I am here baby. Down the escalator and there is our name on the board with our driver. Turns out is Rabbitt himself. Great guy, but he forgot to update our info with our final changes, and had been waiting for our original flight, but its all good. Bags come off quickly and we wait for him to bring the van around. Load the van up and just as we are getting ready to pull-out, Rabbitt asks if anyone is a WWF fan. I am of course, and he points out a WWF star sitting on the bench right in front of the van. It is Billy Gunn, one of my wife's favorites. Her and I jump out to snap a quick pic of her and him, and we finally take off. Rabbitt is great and we arrive at the hotel. Had never seen the All-Stars in person. We like what we see so far. Check-in is quick and painless. We had a couple of friends who we had been stationed with in NC who were also staying there. They found us at the check-in. Our rooms were not ready at 12pm of course. So we grabbed a bite to eat at the food court. Checked on the rooms again, still not ready. Our friends invite us to put our luggage in their room and offer us to use it to change. Now the rooms are not big to begin with, so imagine 7 people and their 18 pieces of luggage. We manage it a change to head out.
The guys decide to check out Wide World of Sports and do the NFL Experience, as previous attempts had been rained out. I had just had knee surgery 2 weeks earlier, so you might think I would try to go easy. But I flip into competitive mode, and go all out. Doing fine until we get to the little obstacle course. We are now in full blown competition with bets being made at each station. Don't want to get shown up so I take my turn after the others. First part of the course is running through some hanging tackling dummies. I hit full on and get thrown off balance and my knee gives out. I am down for the count it seems. Don't feel hurt except for pride of course. Everybody runs to check on me to make sure I am okay before they break out in hysterics. I dust myself off only to try again, but my speed is gone and no ability to cut, and my brother beats us. Oh well, at least I provided a good laugh. Word about the NFL Experience: it really seems like they have let it go. Most of the stations were not even operating, so it was dissappointing. Meet up with the ladies who are drinking coffee at the All-Star cafe, and we head back to the hotel for a dip in the pool. Rooms are ready, and lo and behold, we are right next door to our friends so we don't have to move far at all. Pool feels great and we grab a short nap.
We all decide to head to DD for dinner. By the time we all get ready(all 9 of us) we arrive at DD at about 9pm. Head over to RF where we are greeted with an hour and a half wait. By stroke of Disney magic, a woman approaches us as we leave the podium. Her group of 9 had a PS for 9:15pm, but they got too hungry to wait. She offers us their PS and we gratefully accept. ("Gill" if you are out there, thanks again) SO we are seated within 15 minutes. Dinner was good. DS fell asleep right after we ordered. We decided to try the "Volcano" dessert and between us all we put it away.
By now it is about 11pm. My mom decides she is tired and offers to take DS back to hotel, while the rest of us head to PI. We had skipped this on previous trips, but our friends were leaving the next morning, so off we went. We enter PI and we immediately come across a CM with test tube shots. Shots for all and we head to the Adventurer's Club. I had read so much about it that it was a "must do" for me. It was so much fun. We only stayed for about an hour, but had a blast. Saw the mask room, and learned the salute and song...Kungaloosh! Headed out across to the Comedy Club. While waiting in line, there is a great band playing, and the "New Years" celebration takes place. Now here is where I got set-up. Our friends had been there a couple night earlier, so they knew how the show took place. We file in and they let me take the far right seat. As I sit I notice a phone next to me, but I don't think much of it because there is stuff all over the walls. I notice a phone at the seat in the row below and above me also. Wait, this is an improv show right? I catch on finally, but think they won't use me. Lights go down and the first person comes out and immediately goes to the phone on stage. BOOM! Spotlight on me as my phone rings. Do I duck and run? Nah, I will just go along with it. Maybe she will just ask for a topic for them to perform. But no, I get the third degree. Who are you , Where are you from, What do you do, Who are you with, and on and on. Once they have bled all they need from me. Come to find out they are going to put together a song all about the information they now have on me. It was such a RIOT! I will never, ever forget that. Everything was hilarious and in good fun, and they even returned to some it throughout the remainder of the show. Great show, incredible performers. By now, it is time to head back. Friends are leaving at 6am to catch their flight so we say our good byes are head to bed. (Finally!)

Up next: Day 2- MGM

we all passed out at ten pm......thanks so much for the great report.......I will remember not to sit by the phones.....;)

What fun! I have to check out the Comedy Club, as well as the Adventurer's Club on my next trip! We skipped PI the last 2 trips, so we are due for a fun night out!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
