Accurate description of Mission Space Orange?

I have to close my eyes on rides like star tours to keep from getting sick. I rode MS green, kept my eyes closed and was fine. For some insane reason, I rode MS orange with my family, thinking as long as I closed my eyes, I would be fine. I was terribly wrong. I had to sit, in a corner for almost two hours before I felt well enough to walk around. People have told me that if I kept my eyes open and stared straight ahead, I wouldn't have been so sick, but that will remain a mystery, because I will NEVER get on that ride again!

Since it's my daughter's favorite, I now just walk through the line with her and then take the chicken exit, unless someone else is with us, and then I skip the whole miserable thing and wait for them by starbucks.

I don't get motion sick but I felt like I was going to pass out on Mission Space Orange during the 3 high speed spin part. My legs and arms felt all tingly and I was seeing spots.

Back in 2005, I believe there was only one type of ride...INTENSE! Which must be the now Orange. OMG, my son and I (who was 8 at the time), swore we would never ride it again. Way too intense for us. But now that there is a Green, maybe I will try that instead for my DD9 and I.

I enjoy MS Green. Nothing intense about it. Same scenes as Orange without the horrifying spin pressure sensation. When you are lined up watching the pre-show for the first time, there is always a second thought moment and wondering if this was a smart thing to do. But Green is good to go and relatively gentle. I suppose the only caveat would be if a guest suffers serious claustrophobic issues since 4 people sit in a row in a closed vehicle and then the dashboard moves in tight when it starts. The other thing to mention is if accompanying a child, once you are both in your seats, even if you are seated next to each other, you can't really see each other's face but could touch hands on the dashboard for reassurance.

Green doesn't spin. Green is only a slight tilt plus the visuals on the screen and a little motion as you land etc. It's like star tours without 3D and with a mainly broken ride vehicle. :)

Op the thing about orange is that you're not supposed to feel the spin. With cyclotrons you are absolutely supposed to feel it. They make sure of it. On Orange the spin is done to cause your body to feel the Gs of taking off into space.

While there are some who state they followed the rules (and I'm not doubting what they state, but since I'm not with them watching (then I would get sick!) I can't use wording that indicates absolute knowledge) and still felt sick, if a person follows the rules/instructions exactly they aren't *supposed to* feel the motion as spinning. They *should* feel it as pressure like they are hurtling out of the atmosphere.

You might be one that feels sick despite following instructions. Or maybe you won't. No way to know.

I am one of those people that feels sick on this ride - like really really sick - even when following the rules. I don't feel the spinning, just the g forces, but that is enough to totally throw my stomach for a loop. My eyes don't work 100% together so I think I am miss seeing the video just enough that it messes with me. I also get somewhat sick on Star Tours, although not enough to not want to ride it at least once.

That's what my son and I did, held hands. We both didn't want to start to panic so I just talked him through the ride and to breathe!

I rode in 2004 and felt off the rest of the day. I don't know if orange is as intense as the ride used to be, I didn't have as hard if a time with it the next time I rode (2011 and after).
